Seriously, you guys should switch over to Halo CE. It's a LOT nicer. The gameplay is smoother, there are AWESOME modded maps, and there are currently around 250 user-created maps. Just go to http://www.halo-world.net and click "Why Halo CE?". It even provides a download. The only thing you need for Halo CE is your CD-key. The program is free and has less lag.

I can't stand the fluctuating leading distance in CE. You have to guess where to shoot and you won't know if you guessed right until after you fire and it's too late. Especially sucks for sniper... only 4 bullets, better hope at least 2 hit something (unless you get a headshot).

At least with PC it's somewhat predictable where to lead. For example, in XYZ circumstances with XX ping, I aim here, when such-and-such changes, I aim there, etc. With practice, you can actually learn to consistently snipe drivers out of moving hogs, once you master the leading (you have to lead by like 5 inches even with 33 ping... extremely difficult to hit their head).

That and CE doesn't have enough good servers running good gametypes on good maps. It's all either 1) blood gulch 24/7 (it's fun, but variety is needed), 2) stunts, or 3) the latest user-made map, even if the map sucks, everyone always plays what's new and older, better maps are quickly forgotten.

But the biggest reason I don't like CE is the screwed up leading. :-(

The most popular servers in CE run the classic maps (for some ironic reason). The 24/7 BG servers seem to have become a minority nowadays, thank goodness. Also, there is a new user-made server-side extension in the works at the moment that addresses lag-related issues. Many people swear up and down that this does wonders for their ability to score well in games. I believe EP's Third Server is running this extension once again, if anyone wants to check it out for themselves. I think it was removed for a time, so be sure to ask one of the EP members while you're in there and see if it's active. I don't want you to go in while its not turned on and think that there's no difference. :P

On Halo CE, I don't understand exactly how to make your own maps. How do you do it?

3dsmax for a trial version. It costs alot of money for the full version.

Or if you want something permanent, gmax.

Also, get photoshop, go to www.halomods.com, and find the tuts on how to make a map.
