Subject: What Provokes You To Post In A Thread You See???

Spread the love...

When you see a thread, what provokes you to post a reply?

For me, I do 2 things before posting. I (1) see if anyone has posted my opinion before. If yes, then I just quote them and post. If not, then I (2) try and post my opinion without being mean. I also occasionally post a sarcastic/funny sentence :)

How about you?

EDIT(s)
---In option (1) when I say "just quote and post", I don't literally mean "just quote and post". I normally add a sentence or two to express my own opinion on the matter.

An interesting topic.
Though this isn't and I still am...
I suppose in this case it's the fact that this thread doesn't have a single reply yet.

I go into most new threads in this Forum in particular, but there are a few I avoid. In other forums it is something that I have any interest adding my two cents to or that gets my attention.

What types of threads do you avoid? I'm interested to know...

I avoid threads where the OP uses a popular repeat thread simply to get a hot topic and potentially a golden Septagon sticker on it, especially when the OP of said thread bumps the thread without really adding to the discussion. Those are the kind of threads I avoid, and I'm doing a bad job at avoiding them.

Most of the time, I post in a thread to add to discussion.

Oh.

Well, it's sort of unfair of you to assume I made this thread to get a hot topic. You can't read my mind. Also, although my first comment did fall in the "sarcastic comment" section, my second post was a genuine question that I am interested in seeing answered. And frankly, I don't really care if a Bungie employee posts here.

EDIT- And if you any further concerns please PM me.

Why even do that. What could that possibly add to the discussion. I think you just want to raise your post count.

Well, I also normally add a sentence or two to the quote, to give it more depth and put my own spin on it. It's not like I just literally post the exact quote.

Oh. That's great then. At least it's not just "THIS!!"

I typically avoid threads that in my mind I say to myself something along the lines of: "Alright, that's just dumb." I also avoid threads that I have seen time and time again.

Anything disinteresting or distasteful in my mind I don't really pay attention to and avoid it. I am also not a huge fan of poll threads since the Voting Booth died.

I only reply if the thread is made by a certain list of members i have. If they're not on the list their threads won't be graced with my ever-witty comments.

I'll post when there is:
- An interesting topic
- Flames
- When I disagree with someone
- A set up to a lame joke

I have no idea why I'm posting in this thread. It fits none of my criteria. One of the mysteries of life.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

The thread usually has something to do with women, and since that's my field of expertise, I tend to spread my knowledge.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

I see a thread, read the OP and then i decide if i can offer something to the thread. In the flood i really just post without reading any replies, but here i'll read through and then respond.

So really, its a thread name that makes me want to post.

I was a finalist :P

Basically whatever thread I choose to at that given time. I prefer threads relating to science in the flood, and random stuff that gets posted here.

The way you put your questions is very funny looking.

Anyway, what makes me post in a thread?
If the thread provokes interesting discussion or is in need of an answer that I feel hasn't been given as far as my knowledge spans, I'm likely to post in it. Basically, it's in what I fancy.

If you're reading this, congratulations. You've just pressed a button to find out a little bit more about me. Not that you will, but well done anyway.

A thoughtful subject is always worth a post. Of course, sometimes you have to sift through a lot of rubbish to find the gems you're looking for; and sometimes you realise that the diamond you thought you found was actually only a gem of lesser value. Or a piece of plastic someone had dropped on the road.

It was kinda diamond shaped, which is why you picked it up in the first place, but however much you look for it, you don't find diamonds at the side of the road.

I normally post in topics that catch my interest. (Like this one.)

Who the hell do you think I am?

If the title of it interests me, and if the OP actually gives me something more to discuss.
