Subject: Credit Ban

I just got a message saying that my account has been temporarily banned from earning credits and obviously since they don't give a reason why i was banned i am completely confused. I backed out of the lobby after completing my last game before i received the message. I was not boosting or whatever it is called, I was playing team swat with a few friends. The only thing that i can come up with for a reason of the ban is that we won 12 games in a row. Can anyone help?

There's always room for you, If you want to be my friend.

Your stats look clean, not sure why the banned you, but why do you care about credits? They're meaningless.

I was just confused if this was because i had done something wrong. I had set myself a goal and this is just a minor setback. Thank you for the help.

You can still get hit by the banhammer if the person is in your party.

Not really.

why would they put the ban on someone who wasn't breaking any of the rules instead of the person who got 0 kills? its not like its boosting...

the banhammer in my opinion needs work cuz if you watch the videos you can tell someone is playing

The Banhammer bases games off the stats alone, it's the only way.

I can understand that they go off of the stats, but they don't even give you the option to dispute the allegations put against you. Bungie honestly cant believe that the banhammer is 100% accurate can they? I hope that they allow people to post their side of the story and just watch a few videos to see if they made the right choice. I would even work for them if that was put in as an option, its not like that would be a horrible job or anything.

sorry but i have to disagree. i dont see how you can say that this is not stupid. grant it, they should not have gone into those matches if that player was not going to play, but he should not have gotten hit with the banhammer like that since he was actually playing the game. that is part of the reason why the banhammer has been so screwed up this past year.

Are people not getting around it these days?

  • 12.31.2011 5:56 AM PDT

I think everyone should enjoy playing the game itself and not worry about credits.

Carpet....

are you sure you just didn't hit the cR limit?

/=\ncient \_|_/arriors

Clarafication question....

Was the guy getting 0 kills on your team just a random, in your party, or split-screening? If it was the first two I'd take it to 343's site. If you were split-screening you're SOL.

the person who got the zero kills was actually playing we have been trying to teach her how to play first person shooter games. i dont care about the credit earning as much as bungie punishing innocent people, the credits are just more incentive to play the game

Bungie
Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

Almost all bans are legitimate, as shown by the huge thread Bungie had up at one point where you could dispute it, and almost everyone got an extension for lying. If you want it revoked, take it up with 343, as they are the ones running the system, not Bungie. If you have films that show the player was actually playing, I don't see why they wouldn't overturn it.

It's not like credits matter in the first place though, and you're not permanently banned from them, in fact, it should only be 24 hours if this was your first offense.

I do actually have videos that show that the person is playing. Its not the 24 hour ban that bothers me, its that I'm now on a list saying that I have broken a rule that I didn't. The whole point of me posting any of this is that I want my GT removed from that list.

It makes sense why they banned you if he was in your party. He's not playing (possibly on purpose)= more credits for you. It could be true/assumed that he did that so you could get more points thus giving you more cR.
