Hey, fellas.
This might not be common, but in a recent custom Firefight I completed with friends working to get the Heat In The Pipe achievement (1 million points in Firefight) on Beachhead, we ended up destroying dozens of Wraiths. However, for some reason, the game did not clear the wrecks of the Wraiths at one of the drop points (the one on the beach behind the central hallway-like mezzanine).
This excess of vehicle wrecks which weren't cleaned up caused the following errors:
* any enemies deployed to the map disappeared when killed
* enemies did not deploy to the map at all, resulting in whole waves of empty Phantoms about
* final waves deployed only 1 enemy target, or none at all
* some rocket rounds disappeared before they could hit the target
* scope and rifle optics and graphics vanished
* enemy shields did not animate when hit
* pre-destroyed vehicles were dropped (including Wraiths)
* some enemies including Elites deployed unarmed
* other vehicles such as Ghosts failed to be cleaned up and also began piling up
* calling in artillery resulted in no rounds
* bodies of killed enemies disappeared instantly, and their weapons did not appear on the ground
* drop pods deployed less than 4 troops
This cost us points when trying to rack up kill sprees, especially from drop pod troops and on the Wraiths themselves, which also forced us to commit more time.
We got the achievement, thankfully, but this took almost 4 hours and 12 sets (sets, not rounds, SETS) to complete and got to be very agonizing. If repeated or it does become common, this could have serious implications for other extended games. I know "too much stuff on the screen" causes problems for all games...but I'm still wondering why the system didn't clear away all the wrecks. It worked fine for the Wraiths that deploy near the cliffs...but not for the Wraiths on the beach...
To counter this, we tried pushing the Wraiths into the water and "off the map," but none of the weapons we had had the stopping power to do so.
The system simply didn't "clean up" the destroyed vehicles...

And this isn't even halfway into the full video (which was 3 hours and 51 minutes long and showed a lot more wrecks...)
I know, Bungie doesn't own Halo anymore, but...someone up top should know about this...
