I was thinking that there might be further improvements in the Spartan developement program. I know there was most likely a contigency plan for the possibility of losing the research/subjects. So bear with me on this idea. Imagine a new set of spartans that help out during gameplay. They have slightly different armor, but are moslty just like the marines, they just live longer and shoot a little better? If you guys are at all intrueged by this thought, please post your reaction and how you think this could add to the story, if at all.

welll...it would be better if there were real spartans......or even some elites....wow....gameplay would be so fun.....and also..it would be great if we could pilot the pelican, phantom, longsword or seraph....we could have space battles...and even capture the flag in multiplayer...cool!!

Facts are the enemy of tru7h....

Well in the books i thinks it's hinted at that a new generation of spartan 2's were being trained... or maybe even spartan 3's were being produced... you'd need to ask one of the theory guys on the forum for a better description. But the point is it woul kinda fit with what we know is the story...

Anyway, i just hope they have improved the team AI for the human forces abit...i can't tell you the number of marines i've killed because they didn't do what they where supposed to do... Normally i like to try and keep the marines alive but there are just times when you have to kill one so the others will do something useful!...

I could answer this one, easily.
It says that Cheif Mendez (i think his name was?) Was leaving specifically to train spartans on another planet. Now, whether he had made it there alive or not, i don't know, but as John said..."Nothing can kill the cheif". Looking back on it now, i dont really know if he was talking about himself or mendez...:P
As for gearing up? There always seems to be an upgrade to the Cheifs shiny armour, so i say, why not in this edition of Halo as well?
And as far as the latest book goes, i think we might see something happen relating to the original spartans...especially kelly...which implies that the the Doctor that took her away will be making a debut as well on H3.

My verdict? Things are going to be pretty interesting once this thing hits the shelves...or, when people pop it into their box.

I wonder if they will include some of the Book characters into the game...

Anyway my point was we need squad controls. Nothing major, just something to stop our Ai buddies committing suicide. The top 3 buttons would be good for "follow me", "wait here", and "move out". This allows the Red vs Blue guys their bottom button to move the positioning of the weapon.

This is where bungie puts the D-Pad to use, lol. That would work out nicely, 4 commands on the d-pad, and some point and click action like in Republic Commando.

I'll be on my own side.

When John said "nothing can kill the Chief", he was about 8 years old. He couldn't have known he'd grow up to be a Master Chief Petty Officer.

I don't think there will be any major upgrades to the Chief's armor, as the time span between the end of Halo 1 and the beginning of Halo 3 is only like a month. There may be minor upgrades, but not a whole new suit.

I also don't think that there will be any other Spartans in the game, as that part of the story is left to the books. It would probably throw many players off if other Spartans just showed up out of nowhere.

Remember, not every Halo player has read the books, which is why the games don't follow the books.

Bah. You have no sense of humour. I was attempting to make a joke. Not everything i say is totally religious speculation of the game, dude.

As for spartans? What would surprise no-reading gamers more? What does bungie want more?

Minor upgrades? At the rate that technology is moving in-game, i think that a major upgrade might actually be in store for john. But thats just speculation.

What if these "LOST" spartans are hiding in the ARK, which is why we haven't seen them yet... so when MC gets there, he meets some more spartans and give us a huuuuge surprise that he REALLY isn't the last spartan.....
Also I think the arbiter will be having a huuuge part in this game too, as the prophets said to him.... "you will die, along with every arbiter before you"....... wonder whether the arbiter has some part to play in the salvation of earth and the human race........
