Subject: where can i find myself a copy of halo 2

Here's what you are not understanding. We have one computer and several people need to use it at any given time. The option is to buy another computer to play games or buy a console so it definitely is cheaper to go with a console, depending upon one's situation.

Your scenario only works if you are single and don't care about someone wanting to get on the PC while you are playing or if you have the money to buy a PC for everyone.

So there's a lot of people out there just like me who can't afford another PC just to play games so we buy a console.

I do understand that for your situation, but rusts not what I was originally talking about. I was talking about someone starting they felt the Xbox version was superior to the PC version for reasons that weren't even true. It has nothing to do with your life situation at all. It was purely about which version of the game was better in of its self.

Like I added to my previous post, I'm sorry for dragging this thread so far off-topic.

I think Syx is trying to say why people think Halo CE Xbox beats PC without a good reason. E.g. my reasons would be the PC version lacks co-op, which Halo has always been fun for doing and playing with a buddy etc.

The argument that another user made about system link is invalid when the PC can do that too. It's more of why a versions better than why someone owns a console vs PC.

And for my own input, I think the PC and Xbox version of CE each have their benefits (Xbox has co-op, PC has online multiplayer and higher resolutions etc) so it's worth having a copy of both.

I understand what you mean, if you're referring to having to share a PC and console's being the cheaper option. But i'm referring to taking money and the PC as a platform out of the equation. My apologise if it appeared i meant otherwise.

I read every word. On the other hand, you didn't read what I've been saying repeatedly:

This isn't about PC versus Xbox. This is about the two versions of Halo: Combat Evolved in the case of someone who does have the PC version already. Someone that isn't in the position you're in.

You started on comparing the PC and the Xbox in reply to me when I wasn't even talking about the consoles themselves. Who is really the one that isn't "reading a word" the other is saying?

If you want to go on about people in very specific situations then I could talk about my friend who only has one TV between his siblings, but does have his own computer. He can't play Xbox on his TV due to his siblings wanting to watch TV/Play on the Xbox as well. In that case it's a much better choice for him to play on the PC primarily.

^That was just to tickle your fancy on the discussion you seem hell bent on talking about even though it has absolutely nothing to do with how good the PC version or the Xbox version of the game are... Just because a person's specific situation doesn't allow them to a game doesn't mean they have a valid point in saying one version is obviously superior to the other then back it up with false claims like "It's smoother."

That is a valid argument giving a reason why you prefer the Xbox version to the PC version. Something that is at its core that does not involve a specific situation.

Good job everyone, this thread is successfully derailed

OP: Here you go. I highly recommend getting a used copy over getting a new one, but hey whatever floats your boat.

*Sigh* Sorry, you're right. I shouldn't have bothered with it.

OP: Here you go. I highly recommend getting a used copy over getting a new one, but hey whatever floats your boat. Amazon is always a great place to look for about any item. You can find the PC version of the game here as well, but I would actually suggest you get the Xbox version. The porting job on the PC version was terrible and there are more people on Xlink Kai than there are on Halo 2 Vista. The mouse support on Halo 2 Vista is so bad along with the aim assist in the game that controller/m+k are about equal to each other, so even m+k isn't a plus. The only real plus is the graphics quality. The Xbox version also has stuff like super bounces/jumps which gives the game what seems like an entirely separate experience that Vista doesn't have.

In the ideal, PC plays better than a console, but that all depends upon your perspective. In the real world, for most people I know, it does not play better than the console. Hardly anyone I know has a gaming computer so the quality of play is less in a PC imo.

You got all pissed that someone would say that a console plays better than a PC version of the same game. Maybe the person who says that is not experienced to know how to make the PC play better. In that world he is right, the console plays better than the PC. So I'm saying that you should stop with your pissy attitude toward other people, in their world reality is one thing and in your world it's another.

If a console maker wanted to make a console that plays just as well as a PC, they could, easily but they don't because it would be to expensive and wouldn't sell. So, in the ideal, console can play as well as PC's, they are just not made because of economics.

People have opinions and your is just that, another opinion. PC's play better than console if they have the right hardware...consoles will play better than PC's if the PC is lacking in proper hardware. It's only relative in the real world.

You really didn't read anything I said... You're still comparing PC to Xbox and using specific situations for your arguments.

We shouldn't continue derailing this discussion.

Whenever someone disagrees with you, you call for the thread to get back on track.

Every PC on the planet is specific to it's owner, so the logic will of course be specific in nature and not based in the ideal.

If someone buys the PC version of CE because someone told him it would play better and then he finds out it won't play at all, what advice is he given? He's told to upgrade. Every computer is specific to it's owner and some will play better than others depending upon the hardware.

People have been disagreeing with me the entire time. I sent you a private message to continue our discussion but I guess you ignored it to continue derailing this thread.

You continue to keep talking about PC vs Xbox for people in specific situations. The person who I was originally talking to is not in any of these situations. As his YouTube vids of Halo PC show, his computer is in fact fully capable of playing Halo: Combat Evolved PC smoother, on a higher resolution, etc. than the Xbox version. Absolutely none of what you're saying applies to what I was saying.

Even low-end PCs from 2004 can play Halo: Combat Evolved better than the Xbox. The only way someone could have bought Halo PC and it not run well today is if they have a PC that is so out-dated it can't even run efficiently with anything. It probably wouldn't even be able to run modern web browsers.

I'm going to stop replying on this thread now. If you want to continue our discussion you can reply to my private message where it isn't off-topic to discuss this. It was wrong in the first place to start the discussion in this thread and for that I apologize.
