I was thinking, now that Bungie is finally going to release something on the Xbox 360, which is to say, Halo 3...

I'd like to see if you guys would like to see this as much as I would.

There are many games and trailers for games in the Xbox Live Marketplace, but I can somehow never find music from them in such a place (instead having to refer to file sharing programs, or wait until some kind of CD is released).

Well, I wsa thinking...

Wouldn't it be cool for Halo 3 to have a "custom soundtrack" option? And not just have this option... but have you able to buy Music on a song by song basis from Halo 1, Halo 2, and Halo 3 to fill out some of this custom soundtrack?

Imagine playing Halo 3, with some of Halo 1's epic music?

How about simply loading up a game from the original Xbox and loading up some Halo 1 or 2 or 3 music?

I'm basically wondering if they would possibly get into making their music available for download in the 360 marketplace (not for free of course) so that those who don't want to go to the trouble of finding a CD in their area (in my area, that's tricky) or want to buy one off of an internet site with a credit card and wait for delivery (pain in the butt....) then they can download each song at a time, or a package of them, and enjoy the music!

I'm sure nobody is with me on this, but I do think it would be a cool idea. They could even possibly be the first company to do this! Pave the way for other games!

Please? So I don't have to use file sharing programs to snag the songs until you get CDs out? So I don't have to wait a week or more in order to buy a CD online?

Trust me, it'd be a cool idea. I'd buy all the songs from all the Halo games if they were up there for sale!

Halo 3 already has the best music.

I don't really care if it has the best music... I like all the music. It's all nostolgic for me.

Besides all that... It's a bit cool and trippy to listen to the OLD music on the NEW games....

But that's just my opinion....

Since the 360 has the custom soundtrack option for all of the 360 games, I don't doubt that Halo 3 will too. They might disable it during the campaign though, so that you hear their music. Honestly, I'd rather hear the new soundtracks than listen to something I've heard over and over again. Your idea about putting the old soundtrack on the new games would be trippy, for sure.

Well... At the very least you could mix up the music and have a playlist for your 360 that you could enjoy while you're not doing anything else with it (like playing games).

I don't know, I just think it would be cool to be able to buy the soundtracks in the XBL Marketplace and p'raps later use the musics in multiplayer or whatever else you want...

I know that I enjoy playing the Halo soundtrack for my Tony Hawk game.... So why not allow the same type of thing for Halo 3?

I share that opinion, it makes you feel like your wrapping what you started in Halo and Halo 2.

I was thinking,

Did it hurt? just kidding. The music in the game is amazing the way it is, althought having a custom soundtrack for multiplayer would be cool. I would like to fly around in the banshee playing the theme from top gun? or cruisnig in the warthog playing dukes of hazard theme.

For example!

You in warthog with dukes of hazard playing on the radio- Wow its a beautiful day out here, wonder where the enemy is?

Me in Banshee playing top gun theme- Damn its a nice day, wonder where the enem.....there they are, there in the warthog, time for some action. "i swoop in for the kill and begin to hear "Just the good ole boys"!

You in warthog- (top gun music fading in from behind) What the...! You slowly turn around to see my banshee swooping in for the kill, but while not paying attention you jump a hill next to the rocks in the middle of bloodgulch.

Someone standing in the rocks- (dukes of hazard and top gun music go flying over your head) JESUS! someone runs out of the rocks to see the warthog wrecked and the banshee hits the top of a base. Someone in rocks starts playing "CANT TOUCH THIS"!

lol see!

It should be unlockable....so after you beat the game you can use the custom soundtrack option.
