....spongy, bungie, who cares? I got mine!

Well after watching that trailer, which is amazing. I actually think Halo 3 is going to be a story about complete failure. I actually think the Covenant will end up activating Halos and destroying everything. But yeah, that's hard to say since the first trailer for Halo 2 ended up being so much different than the actual game. But hopefully bungie won't screw this game up and it will be more like Halo 1, more story-driven. But also did anyone else notice that the Master Cheif is holding an Assualt Rifle? Yay!

How is Halo 2 less story driven than Halo 1? If anything, Halo 1 had less of a story. Halo 2 actually had good cutscenes.

Peter Griffin: Make like siamese twins and split.... and then one of you die.
Time is not made out of lines, it is made out of circles. That is why clocks are round.

Thanks for nothing, "mate", thats my name.
Halo 3 Survival mode (Must see, add to Sig)

I definately did not see the Assualt Rifle, I just thought it was an SMG *rolls eyes*

Well just the way the story was put into the game, it was so rushed in Halo 2 and so alot of it was missed, and in Halo 1 it was just paced so well, which made the game amazing. So hopefully Halo 3 will be like the Halo 2 graphics with Halo 1's story pace.

[UPDATE]
I was just reading about the video and someone who interviewed a few Bungie reps, and Bungie said The trailer is set in the African desert, and it was taken from roughly a third of the way through the game.

Yea I kinda agree with you. There was 'more' story in Halo 2 but it wasnt a better story. It reminded me of a Kojima game in a way. For anyone who has played the MGS series Kojima is the creator the confusing storylines and plot twists.

Halo 1 had good plot twists, and they didnt confuse you to no end. I have played Halo 2 all the way through about 7 times and still dont understand everything in the game. The story in H1 was just more organized and better presented. Not only that it didnt have you play as an arbitor or get caught by gravemind.

But then in Halo 4 he will be brought back through genetic cloning.

Mgs' story wasn't rushed by any means, they took their bloody time with the cutscenes, you can't deny that.

Of course Master Chief will DIE!

Everyones out to kill him now!

In Halo 3, you can expect to see 'Most Wanted' posters on the walls.

I hope MC doesn't fail or die. That'd make for a crappy game. I guess I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if MC (and/or other Spartans) get killed, though. The reason I say that is that the one of the last songs in the game is called "thermopylae soon" - thermopylae was a big historic battle that the spartans lost. (I think that's also when the guy ran the 26 miles which is our present-day marathon.)

He is right and im not just saying that because he's a mod. I did however like the Halo 1 campaign better (no stupid arbiter), but H2 had way more storyline than H1.

Thermopylae was a battle which resulted in 300 odd Spartans staying and fighting the army of Xerxes knowing that they would die. Spartans were told "come home on your sheild, or not at all" (spartans killed in battle were carried home on their shields).

Spartan military is something pretty amazing, their whole society was about producing the best soldiers in the world (and dammit they were). Think of Spartan soldiers as real life versions of Master Cheif (without all the crazy equipment). Its something worth reading a bit about, you can see where Bungie got alot of their inspiration from. Also the marathon was run by an athenian and it was 150 miles (the battle of marathon not thermopylae)

Anyway thats my little history lesson for today :) (dont kill me if its not 100% right, though I think it is)
