I was part of the Bungie community way back in the day before the whole passport system went into affect, but once the Bnet was updated I lost my original account - flight271. Have I missed a faq about this sort of thing?

bnet accounts are deleted after a certain period of inactivity.

After 5 months of no logings in the account is deleted. 2 months later (The 7th month) that name is able for use again.
