Subject: Favourite Forerunner Location

What is your favourite Forerunner location in all of the Halo universe? Be it The Ark, a library, a control center, a map room, containment facility or anything Forerunner at all. I really like the control center on Installation 05, it just looks fantastic from the outside.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

The Control Room in CEA and the canyons that make up the levels Assault on the Control Room/Two Betrayals. Such beautiful art design...

We should know better, because we are better.

The Citadel in Halo 3. One of my favorite moments.

Halo 2's Library.

That one is good but it is ruined for me partially because I hated that level.

My honor student can beat up your honor student.

The Forerunner Shield World in Halo Wars. If only we could have played through that in first person... the vistas from the cutscenes were more than enough to make me want to play the game.

I loved Sacred Icon and Quarantine Zone, they were absolutely fantastic. The ambient soundtrack coupled with the feeling of anxiety as you navigate claustrophobic Flood-infested corridors with the whir of ancient machinery, great beams of light and Sentinels flying around and the Library ablaze in the background just captured such an epic spectacle.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

The Ark.

From a visual perspective, Halo from CEA. Anniversary really makes me look forward to Halo 4 from an artistic perspective.

Though I'd have to say the Legendary Planet, simply because it's a complete mystery, and the concept art for it makes it look beautiful.

The Forerunner Temples on Delta Halo are just amazing.

I was too busy getting frustrated by the Flood to pay much attention. Those two levels are up there with the library in my opinion.

Definitely very well crafted from the perspective of the story and level design. The '100,000 Years War' bit where you're out in the barren plains with an all out battle going on in the snow between the Covenant, Flood and Sentinels really captured an epic and vast feeling.

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Threshold Gasmine

It looks cool from the outside, is interesting to explore on the inside, its got so many places in it, and all of it is hanging from a cord! Plus its where my favorite Halo 2 levels The Arbiter and The Oracle take place.

While I am still disputing the "Baryonic-WH40k beats Forerunners" claim you made, I will agree with you on this point.

Every level that you go into a completely Flood infested area is creepy and annoying as hell itself.

1) Not true.
2) Irrelevant point anyway.

In general I disliked the Arbiter levels because they were dark and you lacked a flashlight. I kept getting lost and ended up just running randomly hoping I would find the exit.

I have a link to that vs thread if you want to continue the debate where it belongs.

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

I would say Reach since it has Earth like conditions despite being a relativly young planet (only a billion years old). Its obvious the Forerunners shaped the planet for thier own use since the slip space crystal is there as well.

Halo 2 had the most memorable Forerunner sites in my opinion. The Library on Delta Halo is most definitely my favorite.
