I know the video was intended just as a teaser but many people are speculating on the finer details, so im going to join them and let imaginitive ideas loose.

In the video, you cannot see any marines but that doesnt mean that they are all dead and earth has fallen completely. What about all the other continents on earth and have you ever heard of a resistance? Letting your enemy think they have won then strike when they least expect it. The humans fighting for their race and planet would be harder to kill than is made out.

Imagine in one level, you discover a marine bunker/hidden hole loaded with marines, then, you lead some of the resistance through the ruins clearing away resistance and taking back land. Or larger scale, you lead a company of marines from hiding out into a pitched battle against the covenant, where the noise is defeaning, guns firing and marines running and hollering headfirst, fearlessly into the stacked covenant battle lines. Finally letting the marines kick some serious covenant ass.

I think bungie are smart enough not to miss out on oppurtunities such as these and more innovative ones too. What do you think? Marine resistance?

Back in my day we didn't have no fancy lasers, and the hogs were indestructible!

There will be some not to worry (after all we're not that weak), but I reckon that the covenant have just destroyed New Mombassa as this is were the Forerunner facility/weapon is, but no doubt on other parts of the planet humans will still be fighting.

Yep, I totally agree...the Earth can't have been completely conquered...otherwise, it'd be far too depressing for 1. bungie to make, 2. people to play. In addition, we still have a few of our orbital defense posts online, so Earth hasn't been completely conquered yet. We still have a few MAC guns online, but I doubt they'll hold up much longer, so the admiral will most likely move down to a safe location on Earth's surface. But basically, I don't believe Bungie would create an unprecedented holocaust just for the sake of the plotline...there still must be pockets of resistance left.
