Subject: Where does Master Chief get his armor in Halo 4

An old friend.

Nanobots. I'm not kidding. Also what is this memo that I missed?

Mk VI doesn't have nanobots. Mk VII does. Chief is wearing the VI, the trailer was just (pointless) artistic license. They removed the codpiece, was that really an issue?

Then again 343i did change the Mk V in CEA for no reason whatsoever, maybe they will do the same for H4.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

It was explained in Glasslands that nanobots can modify the suit while the wearer is in cryo in order to improve the suit's technology. That's how Naomi already had MJOLNIR Mk VII.

I am sure Glasslands stated that Mark VI had limited nanotech, and CEA was just a graphics update

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

I read somewhere that it was due to "graphical updates" -_- {Laziness IMO]. Oh and they will do the same for H4. I can say that with certainty after looking at the artistic direction 343i is going for.

As evident in the re-published Fall Of Reach, The Flood and First Strike front covers. Also in the display of H:CEA in-game visual changes.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Actually, no.

Glasslands states that Mark VI had limited nanotechnology. Mark VII had full blown nanotechnology based from testing on Mark VI.

"It will not be we who reach Alpha Centauri, and the other nearby stars, it will be a species very like us, but with more of our strengths and fewer of our weaknesses, more confident, far-seeing, capable, and prudent. For all our failings, despite our limitations and fallibilities, we humans are capable of greatness."-Carl Sagan

What is this nanotechnology?

The suit can upgrade itself when not in use (or is it JUST in cryo?)

Or,

A) They have no final iteration yet (fact)

B) They will explain the differences in-story (fact)

C) The trailer was non-canonical, created by a third party (fact).

And what exactly was different in the Chief's armor in Anniversary?

Why are you here?

All we know is about the small amount of nanobots that are in his armor, which slowly shift around to make upgrades for his armor over time. (the time he spent in cryo allowed for this change to happen)

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

Yeah...what changes are this you talk about in the Mark V, besides graphical improvement and a change of color, I don't see any changes.

We DO KNOW already. In Halo: Grasslands it is said that the Mjornir armor contains nanites that can effect repairs and modify the suit. Now obviously cortana had some time on her hands and access to her Forerunner knowledge so its rather obvious.

But if thats how they explain it or not I dont know

...lol...Grasslands....But good theory
It may be a bad book, but it's still canon until proven otherwise.

I was thinking it was the nanites as well, remember how Chief's Mark 6 Armor changed from Halo 2 to Halo 3? For one thing his armor on the back of his hands went from square to triangular. Either he swapped out bits of his armor at the beginning of Halo 3, or the nanites did adjustments to his armor after it possibly took damage from the fall.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The whole "limited" nanotech in Mk.VI thing I can accept, I just find it far-fetched still. No other source mentioned it, not even Halsey's Journal. Just saying, it may be useful in getting rid of bullet holes and plasma scorching on John's armor, but I doubt "limited" nanotech can completely re-design the armor.
