There's no way Nate Hawbaker's favorite hero is Alan Stuart

ALAN IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN!

My friend asked me this question yesterday and I realized that I too don't know the answer to this question.

Everything you need to know.

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

Organic powders were found in containers aboard ancient vessels by ancient Humans. The powders eventually changed into the Flood. We don't know anything about them before then.

All we know is the ships came from outside out galaxy but we dont know who sent them or why. It is nearly certainly precursors but there is no actual proof to that fact at this point

The Precursor-Forerunner war. That's all you need to know.

"One starts to live when he can live outside himself."

Read Halo Cryptum; it answers that, among other, questions.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

The Flood was created by the Precursors, if I'm not mistaken.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Not to sound like an ass, but didn't we kinda figure that out a while ago? IIRC, when we first heard of the Precursors, a lot of people figured they made the Flood.

Well, not to sound like an ass, but isn't the point of this thread to inform the OP on the origin of The Flood?

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

This is the true origin of the flood.

Maybe the flood was made by the race before precursors and the precursors were transporting it to isolation facilities when all of the sudden the ships powered down and the gravity of the planets nearby sucked the ships in

I forget where i heard this from but it was like,
Before the forerunners there was a race even SMARTER than them. This previous race had the technology to actually CREATE living life forms. They had a war, which lasted a long time but in the end even though they weren't as smart, the forerunners still came out victors. But in defeat the opposing race as their last resort, unleashed the parasite known as the flood unto the forerunners.
...but thats what i heard

Somewhat true. That race you are speaking of is the Precursors.

[SPOILERS]

According to Primordium, the Precursors ARE the flood.

According to Primordium, the TIMELESS ONE IS the GRAVEMIND.

Fixed. We don't know whether the TO is telling the truth.

So what's Gravemind's role in this?

  • 01.07.2012 10:12 AM PDT

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

So what's Gravemind's role in this?

I'm assuming you mean the Gravemind you become acquainted with in Halo 2 and Halo 3. "Gravemind" isn't a specific name, but a label for a collection of infected that, after reaching a certain amount, becomes self-aware. I'm sure I could scrounge up a better definition than that; maybe later. The gravemind we see in the Halo 2 &3 wasn't the only one. What became of Captain Keyes was on its way to becoming a gravemind itself.

*spoiler**speculation*

Regarding the role of that particular gravemind, he may come into play now that the Captive has died. We'll have to wait for the next book though, or you can wait for all the other more developed and/or less-founded theories to fill the forums.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"Don't eat doughnuts on thin ice."

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

But what about the flood forum?
