My line of Weapons:

Human

Pistol - Good as is, but added power (NOT overkill)
Battle Rifle - Semi-Automatic, Accuracy increased (NO autoaim), and increased strength to each shot (Close to the power of the bursts)
**Assault Rifle - Automatic, Medium - Short range accuracy, Power between BR and SMG
SMG - Good as is
Rocket Launcher - Good as is
Sniper Rifle - Good power, but increase clip capacity
Shotgun - Good power, but increase range (Make at least a good deal damage at medium range)
**Mini-Gun - Decreases running speed and jump and has low accuracy, but high rate of fire and medium damage per hit

Covanant

Carbine - Same as Battle Rifle
Plasma Rifle (Brute included) - Good as is
Plasma Pistol - Increased strength
Needler - Good as is
Brute Shot - Good as is
Sniper - Good as is
**Fuel Rod Gun - Less powerful than Rockets, but increased range and clip
**Gatling Gun - Rate of fire slower than the Mini-Gun's, but power per shot is stronger.

Others

Sentinel - Increased strength, faster overheat
Sword - Good as is
Grenades - Human: Increased Bounce Covanant: Good as is

** - New, theoretical weapon

Dual Wield activated. Keeps a more unique gameplay style. A thought I had about DW would be to be able to DW the AR, BR, and Carbine, but decreased accuracy and no zoom. But it might come to be an overkill addon, but it would be sweet to pick up two of each, or one and combine with another DW weapon, but to what I heard yall wont level with me on that lol.

I just wanted to say something on the fact that u mentioned no autaim. do u mean no autoaim, or no bullet assist cuz you realize itd be damn near impossible to be accurate at all with out a bit of aim assist. all console fps games have it for a reason, its hard to aim with a joystick. If u meant no bullet auto aim (CURVING BULLETS) i agree so ignore this.

I'm surprised that there was little mention of the grenades. The plasma grenades are just fine the way they are, but the frag grenades need help. I think they need a little more power, and splash damage, and possibly a shorter fuse after they hit the ground. How many times have you thrown a grenade only to have the intended target shuffle three feet to the left and remain unharmed? Yeah.

P.S. 80% of people on this forum need remedial spelling and grammar lessons. My god. Learn how to write.

Good Point. I can't believe i didn't realize that. Im going to add that to my list thanks. I agree frags are way underpowered and inconsistent.

Give the needler a better rate of fire and more ammo.

Yeah i agree with TOMKILLER in his first post. The reason for that is because if the spartan can dual wield in the books i wouldnt mind this being in the game. Maybe you should learn to dual wield abit. You might find that 2 smg's are better than one.

That was clearly not his point, that he sucks at dual weilding. Dual weilding cause imbalance in multiplayer games, as it forces the developpers to lower the damage of single handed weapons, making them ineffective in combat. This combined with Bungie spawning players with a single smg creates huge imbalance on there part.

And yes greneades need to be restored to there former glory that they where in Halo 1. Who do you know who can stand within 5 feet of a grenade and be unscathed, not even the Masterchief could realistically.

I just thought of a great idea to keep the needler alive. Tell me what you think.

Instead of blowing up opn contact with anything, if they are shot into the ground or a wall etc (as long as its not a person) they stay there and remain as explosive mines that blow up on contact with people. Theyd actually become useful b/c u could setup a defense to protect teamates in oddball/koth games.

Toast always lands butterside down.
Attach to back of cat always lands on feet......

Result:Antigravity!

Rockets should have more spash damage.

aright, first of all, the lock on with the rockets is dope, and they wouldnt be a very effective weapon without it. its important cuz that way whichever team controls the rockets controls the vehicles. how many times have you been about to hop in a ghost and asked "yo, do we have rockets?" weapons need specific strategized roles, they arent there just as another way to mess up the bad guys. thats also another reason why the fuel rod cannon wouldnt be very effective in multiplayer (and frankly it really isnt that effective in single player either) because it would be almost a waste of one of the two slots you have for carrying weapons. moves too slow, too easy to see it coming, and with no lock on, it would lose most of its purpose other than that gun that nobody likes becasue there is 0 skill involved. each of the weapons in halo 2 as of now requires a perfectly balanced degree of skill, as well as the numerous combinations of weapons provided through dual wielding. as another example on the fact that each weapon fits specific strategy types, the combo in halo 2, while frustrating to play against, is an element to either be dealt with or controlled (like rockets w/lock on). things like that add depth to the game and set the halo franchise apart from all other first person shooters. on that same point, about the BR, there is no need to change it. it is designed to be a perfect medium range weapon, and if it was made more powerful, not only would there be no need to look for the in-game upgrade to the weapon (finding a combo), but it would lose its effectiveness as a medium range weapon. it dominates if far enough away, but because the BR isnt fully auto, it cant always be tagging the other guy up close, so it allows for a fair fight between even a single wielded SMG or plasma rifle. as far as the pistol goes, i love the magnum from H2. i'm happy the power was toned down even more from when the game first launched too. a pistol by itself in real life could do massive damage, granted, but in a game where you are constantly pounding your opponent with guns 10 times the size of a tiny handgun, there should not be a pistol that can top the other guns by itself. while it is a legend among friends, the pistol from H1 has no place in competitive multiplayer. a pistol belongs as a weapon to provide that extra smack when dual weilded, not as a weapon able to survive on its own. personally i kind of like the idea of a needle shotgun though, that would be kinda fun and it makes sense because of how the needles are, but at the same time i dont think it would work. the plasma rifle too, is tuned to be another weapon that requires more skill than point and pull. to be effective you have to drop the other guy's shields, close the gap, and beat them down. or use another gun to finish them off after thier shields are down. all of your suggestions with the exception of a few, take the skill out of halo 2 that allows the ability to rank players according to how good they are. i do agree that the shotgun should be made a little more consistent somehow though, sometimes that can be frustrating to empty a shot right in a guys chest only watch him walk away and -blam!- -blam!- -blam!- you from behind. rumors about the flamethrower are out too, just like they were with H2 and even H1, but now we might have a system that can handle it. im looking forward to a few new weapons hopefully, like the battle rifle that changed the game. also for those little 4 wheelers that were considered for H2, little things to just roll in. we'll see how it turns out, but your ideas are wack and straight from the mind of a kid who just wants easy kills and isnt good enough to work for them or adapt to the game. oh yeah, and i like the carbine noise. deal with it.
PLATINUMperk

i totally agree with all of this, the game was almost perfectly balanced, however i think they should slightly increase the power of the pistol in b/c you could load someone w/ a full clip and they wouldnt die, so mabey like 8 or 9 head shot kill, i dunno something around there

Hey liqu1d, that setup is awesome. I loved H1, and H2 dissappointed me with the DW's cuz they caused imbalance. They had to make a single smg weaker so that 2 of them wouldn't be -blam!-. Hopefully bungie has a cool plan like that. At least theres hope for the return of the AR.

One thing you didn't metion in this was meleeing. The lunge melee is retarded, like what kinda person flies five feet and smacks someone. Its stupid. Meleeing should be restored to its former H1 glory.

I decided to rewrite my original Ideas into a shorter version and I also added my ideas for vehicles:

Weapons

-Snipers: Add H1 Night Vision for both
-Rockets: Lock-on only for banshee. Longer wait time in b/w shots. Slower movement.
-Shotgun: Fix Consistency
-BR - Same as H1 pistol (Long Range, 3 shot kill, and auto fire on trigger squeeze)
-Carbine - Same as BR (fix the sound effects)
-AR - Same as H1 AR + more power/range.
-Plasma Rifle - Bring the H1 P.R back to its former glory!!!
-Pistol - Same skin as in H1, but tone down power: 5 shot kill range: short - medium
-Frag Grenade- Power same as plasma
-Plasma grenade - Its fine as it is.
-Plasma Pistol – Decrease the Lock on.
-Eliminate DWing (Causes imbalance)
-Eliminate Bullet Assist (NOT AIM ASSIST, that’s different, Bullet Assist is Bullet curving)
-Meleeing: Fix consistency, Eliminate Lunging

Vehicles

Banshee – Easier to destroy with weapons.
Warthogs: Add old passenger view from H1.
Ghost: Get rid of boost, and bring back the H1 floating feeling.

What do you think?

Yeah! I loved the H1 passenger view, and the old ghost felt more realistic and cool. Alot of the vehicles in H2 were simplified to make them easier to use but i think that made them less fun to use.

Human Weapons

Pistol: slighlty more powerful (not as strong as H1)
BR: single but powerful shots, keep scope
AR: much further range, bit more powerful
Sniper: fine
Rocket: also fine, auto-locking is the best idea
SMG: get rid of it, bring back AR

Covenant Weapons

everything fine except for needler, honestly who can say they ever pick it up unless its MP and your dual weilding? its fine if you do but i think its pointless

also bring the cannon into MP and bring the flamethower ( it may not have been that good but it was fun to use anyways)

grenades are fine as they are, but make the frag be able to richocet a bit more

those are my thought but everyones entitled to their own :)

Haven't read most posts, but I hated the pistol in Halo 1. Keep the one from H2 the same. It's a pistol. It's not supposed to kill someone in..what...5 shots.
