Subject: Did Halo Reach Excite or Dissapoint You?

Oh sorry did i crack your visor, here, now yoour helmets cracked, now your visor isn't lonely. Wheres Mah Dooble EXP!

Where you happy with Halo Reach? Did you like the campaign, multi-player, assassinations? Or did you think it could have done better? I think it was fantastic and had great multiplayer add-ons such as commendations and armor permutations.

In all honesty, when the beta hit, I was excited. I lost a lot of sleep just from playing it.

Then the game was released. I was still exuberant.

A year later, I am not as happy as I once was, but as is my behavior with all year old games. I'll spend my time playing a new game until another one comes out, but every so often I play my beloved Halo games. I don't regret a single moment when it comes to playing anything in this amazing franchise. I cherish all moments. Such fond memories.

I was happy with some features and unhappy with others. Reach tried A LOT of new things. Some were hit others were miss.

Yes bungie did a bunch of new things that for the most part were good

"The truth is the key, and with it, I will unlock the doors of darkness and find justice."

"Why is it that lately, all I want to do is cry?"
-Phoenix Wright

I enjoyed it. I still enjoy it.

"Before you insult someone, try walking a mile in their shoes. This way, when you insult them, you are a mile away and have their shoes."

A mix of both. I'm very excited about the campaign, online, customs, and firefight, but then theater dissapoints me because it's sub-useless right now, and then forge does, too, because it's so glitchy and weak.

Yes, I like Elites.

I was very impressed with Reach. It is a beautiful game and a great bit of craftsmanship. The gameplay was changed to adapt to the new audience and the returning one, which left a lot of old fans a bit angry because it wasn't the same as the other games, but I honestly like the change for the sake of improvement and innovation if nothing else. I loved it when it came out, and I still do to this day.

If you never give up, you never lose.

the game is as good as any other halo game. It's the community that gave it it's bad reputation...

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

I'm happy with it. I loved it when i first got it, then i went through a phase of hating it, now i think its good again. I mainly stick with firefight and campaign

Infection in Halo 3 isn't zombie killing; it's ethnic cleansing. Have you ever noticed that these "zombies" are just black Spartans?

I really enjoyed it. Scratch that, I really enjoy it.

I just wish there was more thought put into the matchmaking offerings. The Halo games have always been a shining example of player gametype customisation on consoles, but I've felt that since Halo 2 that Bungie have tried to put a more 'serious' spin on the multiplayer and stripped out the crazier stuff in favour of vanilla Slayer. Even the vanilla Objective modes like CTF, Assault, Stockpile, Territories, Headhunter feel like they've taken a back seat in Halo: Reach.

The new voting system felt like an opportunity to cram as many options in Halo: Reach as humanly possible (after all, there's six slots to choose from), but instead we got:

Slayer on Countdown
Slayer on Powerhouse
Slayer on Sword Base
Slayer Pro on Countdown
Headhunter on Powerhouse
Slayer Pro on Zealot

That's some serious choice there. The annoying part of it all is that this isn't a problem with the core mechanics that requires a title update, it's just a playlist update which 343i have done several of since taking over.

Maybe I'm just sore because I'm one of the tiny minority of players who like doing something other than murdering tonnes of dudes for the sake of murdering tonnes of dudes. If I wanted to do that, I'd play Painkiller (to complete the reference in the previous sentence.)

For me it is the most disappointing Halo game to date.

  • 01.02.2012 9:50 AM PDT

It annoyed me at first because of bloom and such, but ZBNS MLG is the most fun I've ever had in a Halo game. Too bad it took them more than a year to get it right. :/

At first I didn't like it and I stopped playing it all together. However I enjoy it a lot more now.

Herp
Derp.

I enjoyed it when it came out, got a little sad when they took away big team swat, left it, and now I'm back to playing it again and I really enjoy it.

fear me, for i am pro sauce

the beta was very good, that made the expectations of reach higher because betas are supposed to be worse than the proper game.

the first 2 weeks were fun, new playlists/weapons/features but it soon got boring and frustrating, i left for a while and started to play again, it is better thanks to the TU updates in most playlists but it still needs improvements

I was more disappointed than a blind squirrel with a pair of nuts.

  • 01.02.2012 10:29 AM PDT

chances are I don't care who you are or what you say.

At first it was cool, but it soon lost this "cool-ness factor" after about two months :/

  • 01.02.2012 10:35 AM PDT

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

Both. Reach wasn't a bad game, but for a Halo game it was disappointing.
