has no one noticed, there is already weather but not extreme, like lockout there is snow, backwash there is fog, rain would be cool but i wouldnt want it to get in the way of gameplay

It would be fun to have weather affect gameplay. I'm sure Bungie has thought of this and is thinking of the best way to go about this, if at all.

Instead of weather, think timeline... At sometime during the game it shifts between morning, noon, afternoon, and evening, then it revolves over again, and an option to have this enabled or not.

As for weather effect in general, it would interfere with gameplay, but like said earlier, could be used as an option, like it's ur choice to have it or not.

Bungie definitley learned with Backwash what a difference atmosphere can make. If they made levels with applicable driving rains or dark nights, it would change gameplay HUGELY.

This is an idea I want: Revolving time of day and weather patterns.

I want to see rain that actually has an effect on gameplay as well, imagine the possibilities of having Warthogs skid around on a city street and get stuck in mud. It would rock, and would be entirely possible.

As for the time of day, the sun and moon would act as each light source. I want to see an option for each individual hour of the day, just so we can do a sort of real-time machinima.

That would rock.

I have been saying this... weather that isn't static. Each map would have random weather patterns. Also, night and day... again random.

Let’s give you an image. The map is an urban setting much like Turf. It’s night time and the streets are bathed in shadows, broken only by the piercing glow of the base spotlight. One of your comrades is manning the spotlight, sweeping the street for signs of intruders. So far, so good. Everything is quiet. Too quiet. Then a blue orb arcs through the air, followed by another landing near the generator. For a split second the whole area is awash in a rich shimmering blue glow, rippling off the base walls and then a blinding explosion rips the generator apart. The lights are snuffed out. A sillouette emerges from the night running across the shadowed street. You lift your battle rifle and fire at the figure. You can see your red hot rounds rip into the intruder. Too late, you realize it’s a decoy as burst fire sounds from inside the base. You turn, spark a flare and toss it near the east entrance. A bright red light fills the base and you see a comrade lying lifeless in the east doorway. One… two… three Elite soldiers dart out of the doorway into the base. The base has been penetrated. Muzzle flashes erupt seemingly from everywhere. The defenders begin lobbing frag grenades in the direction of the attackers. You can hardly tell what’s going on. It looks like a crate of fireworks has gone off. Muzzle flashes, red flares, purple shards of light ricocheting off walls, blue plasma grenades, frag grenades, red plasma rounds, battle rifle tracers… a random rocket streaking from the second floor and then, as suddenly as it began… it’s over. You turn your helmet light on and survey the area. All three attackers are dead as are four of your comrades. You turn and, to your dismay, the flag is gone. Darting out the front door you see the flag carrier climbing into one of the base warthogs and then, tires squealing, the vehicle fishtails down the street… headlights swaying back and forth. A distant toot of the warthogs horn lets you know that you’ve just been owned.

They have that new way of lighting things on the 360...what was it...HDR lighting or something. It's where they only need one light and the other surfaces reflect and bounce light back (like in real life with the sun). So it might be easier now for there to be clouds floating by and blocking out the sun or the sun moving across the sky as time goes by.
