One thing I liked to see in the game to add to all human weapons would be a silencer. I think it would be easy to code and design and would add a plausible stealth element to the game. (Let's face it, sneaking up behind a Brute and shooting it without awaking anyone is just plain cool). What makes it even more appealing is the fact that there will be only a few sources of light in this game (such as the sun), which could allow for more ways to handle a situation.

I want to hear your thoughts.

I think that would be too much like James Bond or such. Maybe just to one weapon.

Notice though, how the barrel on the Assault Rifle in the trailer was longer?

Not the sniper though, because that is still a one shot kill weapon as far as we know.

Silencing all weapons... I think you're getting carried away... This isn't a Splinter Cell game.

No, but this is a sci-fi military shooter.

This is not something that is extraordinary, because a lot of military units currently use silenced weapons for stealth operations. It would work nicely.

The ammo could be really sparse to solve any problems though, if it was contained to one seperate weapon.

The last man on Earth sat in a room, there came a knock at the door.

I find smacking them in the back of the head more fun... and ammo effecient.

That'd make the game more like Splinter Cell. If there are going to be silencers for Halo 3 for every human weapon, what will it be like? It'd be stupid. If you want a stealth game, you could look forward to the next Splinter Cell game. Halo 3 needs to be unique, not something that's already been done.

This game is an action shooter, not tactical. This is not Halo Strike:Source or Halo Six: 3

RIP Halo 2.

Nah, it doesn't really fit the gameplay we've come to know in the Halo universe.

True, we all love that too.

Besides the fact, a main problem that I noticed would be that the people on Live hardly ever use teamwork, aside from maybe clans. This would be another reason to add it.

A lot of people are forgetting that a silencer on a weapon actually slows the velocity of the bullets fired. So you would basically be trading power for the risk of being detected.

It would also make for some good gametypes, the juggernaut gets a silencer, everyone else does not.

So far, both Halo 1 and Halo 2 have not been stealth oriented and have been excellent games. Aside from one level in Halo 1, all the levels have basically been where you run into battle. You're saying, that there should be silencers* added to all, maybe some, of the weapons. That would make it: Action FPS -> Action FPS -> Tactical FPS. The two first Halos were great... why change the third one into something that might ruin how many people like the game?

Ok, read again.

Tactics are supposed to be involved in multiplayer, you would be trading power for stealth, and you could add a new layer of depth.

If it was contained to one weapon, it would work. If we had it for all human weapons, it would work as well. But everyone has to look at the fact that this new situation shows the UNSC as a possible underground resistance movement, not as the superpower it once was. So stealth would be required to prevent the underground soldiers from being totally eliminated.

Look at it within the context of the story and situation.
