RedaKted was in the queue... :/

And you have been in the SV queue since September 2010. We leave you there without declining you so we can laugh at you

Can't remember the last answer, so yeah

Once you try to join a membership approval queue, you're pretty much stuck in that until they either decline or accept you

Why hasn't there been a 'Cancel join' thing implemented yet? Or at least an expiration of the join after 3 months of sitting in there?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Funny, I have been complaining about this and everyone said no one cared. Lets see if they care now.

But, I think group queues should show up in your groups list as pending and there should be a button called cancel.

I have 2 other ideas:

CANCEL DAY- once a week, all group invites are removed from every queue, in every group. So it starts back up as 0 in the queue if the admin is lazy or a jerk.

24-58 hour trial- You have 24-48 hours to be accepted in the queue or you will be taken off.

I agree, this should be fixed.

That would be great, or have the invite be automatically declined, I think I'm in the same situation.

There should be an automatic time when invites in the queue expire.

I think a week at max and 24 hours shortest, all that can be chosen by the admin of the group.

The capacity of chapters one can join is twenty five to my knowledge. I have joined between five or seven closed chapters that have yet to choose to accept or decline.

Needless to say, it prevents be from entering the ranks of more chapters, cuts my capacity down, and makes me wish for such a feature on this website.

I made this thread yesterday and ever-, you know what, forget it.

I wasn't on till late at night because I'm on holiday so I guess I missed it, sorry. I would say give the person 14 days. If the invite is not accepted within 14 days then it will be automatically declined. I would also like to have a "cancel join" feature like you said ken.

What usually happens with 90% of all groups in Bungie.net is they begin to die and the host of the group forgets about it.

I can only think of 5 groups that are still really active and only maybe 2 of them are invite only.

Pffffffffttt.

  • 01.02.2012 12:22 PM PDT

There should also be a list that you can view that tells you which groups you have "applied" to.

That way you actually can find which groups you need to cancel the join request for.

Perhaps make them have "pending" under the name and a button next to it that says cancel.

It would be awesome to have all these features be usable via the private groups section.

I am apparently in the queue for 4 groups and IDK what groups they are.

The larger issue being is broken groups, you are saying? If such be the matter, I concur.

I probably shouldn't propose anything further, as this is a game developer's website and we should be thankful for its mere existence, however that is an excuse in itself, and here is my idea on bettering the site:

How about a private chapter clean up? Since the makers are obviously shy to add new features such as a "cancel request" button, it may prove an alternative of ease to simply terminate all chapters that do not respond and wish their chapter to survive.

That way, if they are truly active, they will respond and escape deletion.

Then again, it is not all too much of a big deal anyways. I am just submitting my thoughts.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

I still don't see why you should care. You don't see that you're in the queue, and after about five minutes you forget that you even tried to join.

Doesn't seem like something that's very important.

  • 01.02.2012 12:31 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

I think it would be a good idea to fix that. I'm probably in queues for groups I can't even remember.

I would much like that.

It would be nice to clean groups once every 6 months automatically that don't have replies in the last lets say 1-2 months.

I am still for an automated system of clearing everyone from the queue every 1-2 weeks. So you have a week to be in the queue and if the group is dead, you get out of it. And there are some rude people like OP has shown that horde group join requests and that isn't fair to the joiners.

Groups need a notification for pending members. It may not have anything to do with the group being dead, there's just no way for FC/mods to tell unless they go into the member queue itself.

Why are you reading my signature? Who actually opens these things and reads them!

And as always, SEND ME A PM. Please. Or really bad things will happen to you.

I agree with this. Even though I don't frequent private groups they should still be fully functional.

Some users care becuase they lose a slot to join another social club. I think if we could have as many groups as we wanted we would avoid many issues but if that is not the case something should be done about not being able to get out of a group, waiting for months or even years to be accepted.

  • 01.02.2012 12:48 PM PDT

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Maybe one day someone will do something about it. This has been a problem for ages.
