Subject: Brutes can kill each other with one hit?

Halo 2 > Halo 3 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo Reach > Halo CE

Based on campaigns.

Think about it

Spartan takes two punches from another spartan to die
Brute takes two punches from a spartan to die
Spartan takes one punch from a brute to die

This means that brutes must be capable of killing each other with one hit.

What do you guys think of this? Is it a bit over powered?

Why would they hit each other?

What??? I don't get it. Please explain.

A spartan kills another with two hits
A brute kills a spartan with one hit
A spartan kills a brute with two hits

This means that brutes are twice as strong as spartans.

We are all going to get banned aren't we?

If humans can kill each other in one hit i don't see why a stronger race wouldn't be able to. All you are doing is hitting vital organs.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Gameplay over canon.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

When Tartarus fought his Uncle for the control of the pack in Contact harvest, it took way more than 2 hits for tartarus to end it.

I think this thread is more focuses on the theory of.

I'm sure someone could kill me in one hit, but if we're actually fighting it's obviously going to be different with me defending myself and being ready for an attack, adrenaline is a huge thing.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Depends what difficulty you're playing on.

Where did the "Brutes are twice as strong as Spartans" BS come up?

Because if it takes two punches from a spartan to kill a spartan, and it takes one punch from a brute to kill a spartan, this shows that brutes are at least double or more the strength of spartans. And it takes spartans two punches to kill a brute, and since brutes are twice as strong it would only take them one punch

  • 01.02.2012 3:31 PM PDT

But if it's a brute vs a brute then it doesn't matter how quickly they can kill a Spartan.

First Strike, Brute overpowering John.

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

OP never clairified what difficulty he plays on, so this debate over if brutes can kill a Spartan in one hit is BS, can't be proven game wise. Canon wise though, they are one on the strongest species in The Covenant, rivaling even the Hunter's and the Sangheili's stregth.

Also, The Tarturas fight in Contact Harvest shows that it does not take one hit to kill each other. Hell, even Halo 2 shows that to some degree.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Gameplay is not canon.

Brutes are more powerful than SPARTANs.

I play on easy or normal and they still kill you in one hit

That Tartarus versus Maccabus (I think thats his name) thing, you have to remember that both of them were Chieftain of the Jiralhanae, the toughest brutes around. I'm talking average brutes.

Next time you have a thread like this, clarify that its a brute minor/major/ultra/etc.
Brutes still kill you on easy in one hit? I just played Halo 3 campaign and I broke the armor off one Brute, got -blam!- slapped, but I still lived. My shields were reduced to nothing, but I still lived. BTW that was on NORMAL, though I usually play Heroic.

Oh sorry, forgot to mention i was talking about Reach lol

In Reach they punch with all their strength, they swing their entire front body and send you across the map.

But yeah, on Halo 3 they just -blam!- slap for some reason
