Damn. The Librarian aren't dead. Primorodium confirms this.

"Some say she is dead, that she died on Earth. But that is demonstrably untrue." [Halo: Primordium, Chapter 42]

The hell? then again i can't be surprised if the Didact is some how still kicking.

Also, 343 Guilty Spark aren't dead at all and also likely got out of rampancy due to accessing to Chakas memory. So Guilty (Chakas) is taking a UNSC ship to find the Librarian, he said he knows where to find her. So I suspect that Master Chief will seeing the Liberian itself. It would explain how UNSC is involved in this since they're taking a ship full of UNSC personnel to that location.

Yankee115

Yes, Chakas became 343 Guilty Spark.

Do you think the ship he's taking is the UNSC Infinity? If so, it explains where the UNSC comes into play in Halo 4.

See, like I was saying to all those UNSC in Halo 4 detractors: we didn't know the whole story, and we apparently have our answer.

That is called "going with the information we know" and not being a poor theorist by baselessly saying "Everything will work out".

Yeah, but logic in storytelling can just be as important as 'information we know.' It was obvious the UNSC was going to be in Halo 4 because it made sense. It was likely 343 Guilty Spark would come back because of the CEA terminals giving him exposition, and also because the developer is named after him. It was likely the Didact is still alive in Halo 4 based upon how much his character is being fleshed out through an entire trilogy of novels.

Yes, facts are very important when theorising. But sometimes, you have to fill in those blanks with logical conjecture.

You know i, personally, don't like betting on such things as that. Sure it will happen, but do not think i am going to let the people who have said this without any sort of support parade the forums.

People will be right, others will be wrong. That doesn't matter, it is all about the next theory and the level of your perception.

Every single prominent theorist; historical, scientific or behaviourist won't rely purely on facts alone when creating their theories. It should be no different with this.

I understand this, it is an even amount of both.

With all the soul swapping thats been going on, I would not be surprised if when spark says she (the librarian) is still alive, he means that her soul/geas is alive in someone. Maybe even the same with Didact.

"Without her, humans would have been extinguished many times over."
Halsey just saved humanity from extinction. Would not be surprised if Halsey is the current reincarnation of the Librarian.

Nor would I be surprised if John had didacts memories buried in him, being a warrior god and all. Might explain why 343GS asked John "When you asked me that question before....", because he saw didacts geas in John.

I am rather curious who specifically Riser and Vinnevra are in. Or maybe their genes have passed down to a number of people (specifically spartan-IIs?)

I so freaking called this!!!!!

Good job, but you only get half the points if she didn't live in the way you mentioned.
Thats fine. I knew she had to be alive somehow. Did it say how she lived?

I had actually considered this though i didn't voice it because there wasn't much evidence to support it, or really any at all besides what I pointed out from Glasslands.

I hadn't really thought of the Liberian being a geas but who knows if she is also.

Although it will be interesting if two people (excluding the liberian) that chakas is looking for are important halo characters.

Greg bear implied that the S-IIs have a relation to some certain characters in his book.

SO if Dr. Halsey was the librarian reincarnate, and the S-IIs did all have a genetic relation to riser and/vinnevra, then when Halsey chose her spartan II candidates, it was more like the librarian retrieving her lost work.

It would be quite smart actually, because Halsey is so much smarter than any of those that came before her, but if she has a geas then something is odd as its never mentioned (who knows, halsey could be keeping it a secret)

Either way it is an intriguing possibility

I think I Geas can help guide someones actions without outright making themselves known to their host, like chakas and riser back on earth.

Maybe the librarian is just waiting for the right time to properly show herself.

Straight Edge.

Can someone explain how after like 4 consecutive laser shots 343 is still "alive"?

  • 01.03.2012 9:07 PM PDT

I definitely got 343's crazy vibe at the very end when announcing his quest and what not. And this ties in well with HCA too. The "to have a record of all our lost time" really has a different meaning. I was afraid the lore would fall apart. Bear hasn't let me down. Unlike.

~~Take A~~
~~Chills Pills~~

Does anyone have a PDF Ebook download for the book?

It appears that chakas is 343 but that seems odd, given the fact that 343 explodes etc i am guessing the 'real' 343 is just a copy of the real one

To be fair, they were repairing a malfunctioning damaged memory core.

  • 01.04.2012 2:37 AM PDT

I'm up to around page 100.

A few questions. Please don't answer if there are major spoilers.

What were those metal 'flea's or something connected to the joints of the Forerunner armour? The guys that were inside the crashed lifeboats.

And, which ring is this set on? When Mendicant Bias attacked the Capitol with 5 of the 12 Rings, and the other 7 tried to escape; is Primordium happening on one of the escaping rings? If so, does it state which one?

  • 01.04.2012 3:49 AM PDT

It's on Installation 07

I don't im actually really dissapointed that the timeless one and the precursors are Flood. I AM REALLY SICK OF THE FLOOD!!!
their not interesting at all anymore their annoying.I was expecting the timeless one, to be the last badass precursor sea scorpian going on a rampage across the modern day galaxy. Not a freaking gravemind why wont the flood just die and chakas being this cool prehistoric human turns out to be a happy giddly eccentric forerunner AI.Ugghh.

You can't honestly expect to tell us that you didn't think the Flood wouldn't be important going on.

And also: did anything you read in Primordium suggest that Chakas-Spark was happy and giddy? That 343 is dead; Chakas, from what I've heard, has only taken up the void he left when he died.

  • 01.04.2012 8:45 AM PDT

I don't think the Flood are Precursors. Not anymore anyway. What the Precursors used to be is long gone from this world, replaced by the Flood, what they are now.

By the way I find it highly unlikely 343 is still alive after watching him explode after being shot by a Splazor like 5 times, just sayin'.

Don't be stupid like I was! Check to see what that Forum Ninja is saying to you!

"I may not like what you say, but I will defend your right to the death to say it!"

"Tolerance is a virtue, and virtue builds character."

OK, so the Librarian and Didact are still alive, Precursors are Flood.

But how is 343GS still alive?

You do know that the Flood we have seen in Halo games are only a minuscule fraction of the true power the Forerunners fought against?
