If they bring back bosses I will be forced to burn my copy of Halo 3.

No Bosses. Thats something about Halo 1 that was so nice, NO BOSSES. They made halo 2 feel corny.

  • 05.11.2006 5:09 PM PDT

Kill em all, and let God sort em out.

tartarus wasnt a boss,If he was then regret was too. he was just someone you had to kill.

One of the bungie rules is no bosses, but they broke it with Oni and Halo 2.

I honestly don't think there should be a boss, just a massive battle at the end.

probably some old forunner that lived in that structure. He comes up looking like a 9 foot human and goes all crazy, then cheif shoots him in his old head, game over !

Formerly known as HunTERminator

i seriously hope there is no boss. That is a part of why Halo:CE was so great and it took the luster away from Halo 2.
not saying that bosses are bad....just hokey when in a gamewith the depth like Halo.

Dude how does Truth die? We have to kill truth and there has to be a boss battle. Gravemind is no threat he is a "galaxy away" tending to important buisness. I mean lets think for a second and add up the clues shall we?

So he saved master chief from drowning correct? So he saved the arbiter correct? So he sent the arbiter to halo to stop it from activating correct? So he sent master chief to high charity in turn getting on the FS and back to earth correct? So he told the arbiter what halo really did correct? He saved ever being in the galaxy from instant death and set master chief up and the arbiter up in a way to allow them to stop truth correct? ( the arbiter is very close to regrets ship). So he's an enemy? Damn if he's an enemy who needs friends i'll just go make a few enemies and they will save my life and the life of trillions of living things. He ain't evil he is a hero. You seem to forget joseph staten said the flood had one body and one mind and in the bible god created and controled the flood.

Also there was four bosses regret , scarab , tarturus and the heritic leader.

If you didn't know, Gravemind used the Cheif and Arbiter to gain control of outside land of the Halos, also he obviously didn't want the Halos to be activated otherwise he would starve.

I don't know what people have against bosses. For the halo2 story to work there have to be 1 on 1 fights. How else would you assasinate the heretic leader? How else would you defeat Regret? How else would you kill Tartarus? Don't think of it as a boss, think of it as a fight against 1 more powerful enemy, rather than a fight against many weaker enemies like the levels are. In halo1 there were no "bosses" because there were no single powerful enemies, because the story was not developed enough to include them.

Personally, I think gravemind (though he may want to cooperate with the chief to stop the covies) will develop into a more powerful enemy than Truth, and will probably be the final fight. It'd be an interesting plot direction.

Cortana. She gets possed by Gravemind and you have to fight graveming out of her.

What i would like to see is a battle in one of the last level where you just get lke 4 marines and you all have to fight a bunch of like 30 person swarms. That would be way sicker than any boss

That makes no sense though, how would an organic being "be" a non living thing. I mean Cortana could be corrupted and fight against you, but Gravemind coldn't "be" Cortana.

Also I don't consider the "bosses" in Halo2 bosses. Like one person said, it was like fighting another more powerful enemy. Otherwise you'd have to consider the Enforcer a boss then cause it is definetley more powerful than the rest of its counterparts. Not to mention you initially fight it one on one

You are pretty deedeedee. You have to kill bosses! Since he is better and stronger than regular beings, he is a boss, and so is Regret. I thought it was pretty fun killing a super chewbacca with a shield. Now I wanna kill a huge poetic venus flytrap.

But yeah in terms of a final fight it would have to either be someone from the Covanent like Truth, or someone from the Flood like Gravemind. Or it could be something completely random like some Grunt with a mini-gun a la Vulcan Raven. We may never know. Oh and who ever had that mod. Even though you totally cheated my team in matchmaking, it looked so cool. (The grunt with a mini-gun/backpack)

Honestly, I think it would be really cool if there was a boss. Yeah, bosses can be corny, but still. They didn't do half bad in Halo 2. The hand to hand aspect could really be played out in this one. I think maybe it should be a humongo battle between the remaining spartans, the brutes, and some covenant who still hold their beliefs in an all out rumble with someone like the arbiter and Master Cheif trying to convince everyone what's really going on when Gravemind shows up and just starts preaching the truth and then starts eating people. That would be cool...

The Prophet of Truth would be too easy to kill, just as Regret was.

The Gravemind wouldn't be a bad idea.

Another "race to the finish" would be good too, similar to The Maw in Halo: CE.

  • 05.11.2006 6:35 PM PDT

Hey baby, its all Kool and the Gang.

I wasn't too fond of the timed ending in the Maw at the end of Halo. I'm hoping Bungie will finish off the franchise with a massive battle.

  • 05.11.2006 6:38 PM PDT

Dude, it would be so cool if we had these pregnant sentinels that were, like, all flaming and shot out baby flaming sentinels that would be all "YARRRGH!" then they'd be like, "WHAAAAR" when they shoot.

That'd be sweet.

Final Boss: GraveMind's Mom.

halo 3 should have bosses to keep it so its not repetative. i mean if i just want to kill a lot i would play online i want variety in my games. but as long as the ending is better than halo 2 then i dont really care that much
