Ever since Halo 1, Bungie has put next to zero extras in their games. In the first game Bungie put in medals and you recieved one in accordance to what difficulty you beat a campaingn level in, but that was about it. In Halo 2 its basicaly single player and multiplayer and nothing else. I say in Halo 3
Bungie put in a couple extras to keep the Xbox Live-less players keep playing. Here are a coupld of suggestions I have and how they work. Feel free to put some in.
Survival - Most games have this feature, I'm surprised Halo doesn't. Anyways, here's how it works: You start on lvl 1. In that level you start out with a smg and there are only a couple of grunts. Easy right? lvl 2. Smg start and 2 grunts with a minor elite. Not to bad. lvl 3. Two major elites, grenades only match. Getting harder huh? Anyways, it should go to like lvl 100 and then you could get achievments and gamerpoints for your Xbox 360 account.
Map Editor - Simple enough. Bunige gives you some basic tools that allow you to move around trees, trash, guns, grenades, vehicles, shrubs you name it. Then after you create a map, you could upload it to the market place and have your friends download it and play with you. Imagine recreating the Halo 1 control center battle with stationary turrets at the top of the zigzagging pyramid and banshee pads way up top of the canyon walls. And a huge rock bridge overlooking the frosty ice and pyramid below.
Target Practice - Useful sniper training basicaly. You get a starting weapon and targets move around. You get points for shooting them in the chest, head, and limbs. Then after 3 minutes, you get shots hit/shots missed and get a score from that. Again, you can get an achievment from this. You can also test out your nade skills.
Coop Online - Self Explanatory.
Training - Also known as "bots". Basically you choose a difficulty setting, multiplayer map, and gametype and you're off.
