Doing what I can, with what I got.

I know this might sound funny but after my time as The Arbitor in Halo 2 I really enjoyed being an Elite, I found the fellow Elites made better fighting partners and being able to run into battle with Hunters was one of the stand out moments of the whole game.

Due to this though I found myself not wanting to kill the Elites when I then became MC. To some extent this was encouraged by Bungie as the game engineered that the enemy was more the flood and the brutes.

Maybe I'm just a simple, two dimensional man but the Elites were honourable fighters who got the shaft and if Halo 3 goes for the same two role play then they will need to invent other covenant members that I won't feel guilty about killing. Jackals and brutes I'd maim all day but after witnessing heroic deeds by even lowly grunts I wouldn't want to kill them, elites or hunters.

Maybe it sounds silly but a good game should create some kind of emotional connection and engage your feelings and by the end of Halo 2 I had connected to the Elites.

It would be wierd to have what seems like an alliance of the Humans, Elites, Grunts, and Hunters against the Jackals, Brutes, Drones, and Prophets, and then just forget about it. So I doubt we will be killing many, if any Elites in Halo3. Unless they come up with another story where you play as a Brute....

Elites were also much better than Marines. And fighting with Hunters was defintley fun.

OMG
Master Chief w/o his Helmet!

Stosh <3's me vicariously... at least someone does...

I don't think ALL the elites will side with the humans...

well, thats what youll be doing. the alliance in delta halo was just a temporary alliance to stop tartarus from wiping everyone out. that being said...its the end for miranda and johnson, you wont see them again.

Maybe I could just shoot them in the knees like in T2.

nope, you will need to shoot them dead. besides, even if they did make an alliance, there is no way that the elites on earth would know about it, they would simply kill brutes and humans. its gonna be a four sided fight.

And why is that? I dont know about you, but I specifically heard that the Arbiter wanted to help the Miranda and Johnston deactivate the rings at the arc. I dont know what your saying.

yea. at the end. when the arbiter was about to die. he had very little choice, you heard johnson, "listen, you dont like me, and i sure as hell dont like you, but if we dont do something, mr. mohawk's gonna activate this ring - and were all gonna die." now that they got rid of tartarus, they will not magically set aside their differences and become allies.

so you just think he'll kill them? i think johnston with his sniper could kill arbiter. so we dont know who killed who.

i dont care. i like the decorations that go up after blast a hole in them. its purple.

  • 05.11.2006 3:50 PM PDT

You might not have to. The Elites hate humans, but they hate Brutes more. I think the two will form a shaky alliance in the next Halo to fight the Brutes.

I don't think anyone can comment with any authority on where the story will go in the third. All I know is that I've bonded with the Elites and I don't want to start killing.

Besides the arbitor realised that he'd been lied to about Halo so I don't see anyone can say they will immediately revert to as they were. The covenant lived for their faith and the arbitor began to question his by the end of Halo 2.

sure thing. the seargeant sure will be able to pull out the sniper, take aim, and kill the arbiter while the poor defenceless arbiter will just sit there and watch...no. he could slice both in a second with an energy sword, and he doesnt need to. you saw the cutscene where the arbiter goes hand to hand with johnson, he was completely won over effortlessly by the arbiter. same with miranda, he just swung his arm and her weapons went flying.

Just the Elites on High Charity and that Covie armada. I doubt the other Elites would know that the Prophets are just using them and have any knowledge of the Rebellion.

The Elites in contact with the Arbiter would adopt the "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" policy and make an unsteady alliance with the Humans until the Brutes were defeated.

I know what you mean. After playing as the Arbiter for a while, I started to feel sorry for the dead Elites I'd find while fighting the Flood and Brutes. But I'm not too sure about an allience. Just because they hate the Brutes doesn't mean they will suddenly like humans.

But why does everyone assume that you will just only play as MC. If you play as the Arbitor again then it won't make sense to have a player killing Elites one minute and then trying to protect them the next.

You were an elite before the Master Chief landed on Delta Halo in the Halo 2 story line, so I don't see your point.
