I would say both of ya'lls. Its a great story that has wonderful characters and just so many interesting things in it.

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

The impact it had on me when I was 11 and the fact that it pushed me into philosophie at such a young age. I mean I was always one to ask "Way?" with religion/theologies but it was something about seeing the corruption within the Covenant that really made me ask if I was as blind/slave like.

I'm so incredibly thankful that I was able to have such a life changing event at such a young age.

I love the lore, the posibilities of such potential and who knows if there are actual races this advanced (or more) out there in our actual universe xD

I am just a great fan of Sci fi and the halo story is just amazing, massive and enthralling. It has it all.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Many factors. Some of which were touched on above, but I'll elaborate...

The universe is what drives me the most. Not necessarily the plot, as that is a bit more cookie cutter, but the sheer depth has always been something I keep coming back to. The fact that there are many books that cover so many facets that aren't even mentioned in-game...you just don't see that in video games.

Halo is a story, told through a video game, then other genres. It's an experience. The protagonist, Master Chief, isn't the best. He's quite over-matched, really. It's not some adventure of how to kill cannon fodder. The character draws you in, makes his struggles your own, and vice versa.

Then there is the social aspect that Halo brought about. Halo multiplayer redefined the video game industry. Never before had gamers lugged consoles and TVs to one location just to laugh, fight, struggle, win, and bond on such a scale.

Halo pushed the bounds of everything. It's an example of what can be accomplished when a creative entity asks itself "We know this is great, but can it be better?"

This seems to be much of what this new project is about, too. "We've made some great things, but can we make something better?" We'll see, Bungie. We'll see.

.

"Happiness is like glass, you might not always notice it but if you change your view and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light."

It all began when I first played Halo Ce. I fell in love with this game because it was my first real fps. I grew up around Halo and eventually I learned there were the books based on the story. I picked them up and read them at least once or twice. I loved learning about the universe and the history behind the characters in game. I got engulfed into the lore of Halo. Every Halo release brought some new experience and the books, comics and stories continued to expand. One minute I was in the boots of Master Chief and the next I was reading about Johnson, Keyes and many more. Then I got xbox live and its like a whole entire new game was released to me. Playing custom games with my friends, killing covenant, matchmaking and forging made halo into the one game that everyone had a blast playing. I can't wait to see what the future holds from Bungie and 343.

I like it because it is unique and different than most of the other FPS shooters out there.

Immersion and epicness.

I think my initial fondness for the game came when I played it. Halo CE was probably the first FPS that I played that felt natural to control. Other games at the time were ok but they were all pretty generic in terms of plot and I remember a horde of WW2 games. But Halo was original, I mean, how many games are there that are similar to Halo? So I think that was the initial drawing in phase.

When Halo 2 was in the works and I saw the E3 trailer I was so excited for it I couldn't believe myself. Then actually getting it and playing it because even though the last bit was rushed, I was ok with it. The plot in general was still good but the factions themselves had more explanations to them. You found out about the Phophets, the Admiralty and the Gravemind so it added some depth to each of the factions that made them seem a lot bigger. You also got to see the war from the view of the Elites and how the Covenant isn't as robust and efficient as you were led to believe hitherto.

Then Halo 2's multiplayer was like a dream come true. I still remember the first game I played was a swords match on Lockout and usually I'm more of a single player gamer that prefers campaign, but I do remember finding the multiplayer a lot more fun than the campaign. I must have played close to 2,500 matches alone on Halo 2 and the maps were so well done, they weren't an after thought one afternoon when Bungie were sat there twiddling their thumbs.

I could go on about how each of the games has improved on the Halo foundations and how the books were a wonderful add-on to lore too but I don't think I have the time.

Still using a pump-action shotgun over 500 years in the future I see.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

I love the mystery of it all. Secrets hidden across the galaxy, terrible secrets.

I love that even though I'm playing as SPARTAN-117, one of the most powerful humans ever, I am still but only a tiny cog in the gears of the turning universe.

But still, mainly I love not knowing things. All those Forerunner structures that pulsate and shift and tower above the ground....for some reason I love that we as players just have to awe in the mysterious, unknown purpose of them.

The almost never ending story and back story captivate my mind in an amazing way. When I was a lot younger playing Halo CE and seeing the characters, story, weapons, ext, ext, it changed me and set me into almost of an obsession. After reading the books and seeing the wonderful community attached to it. It changed me. I am know going to college and I am taking classes in A.I and art. I believe it is it's complexity that intrigues me, the mystery has me begging for more. :D

I only liked the first two games. After Halo 3 it all went to $hit.

Halo Player 4 Life
Live life to the fullest

i gotta say.. it being the game that launched my love for gaming is one of the reasons. the other is the great story that bungie wove about master cheif and humanities last stand. not to mention the fact they were able to come up with this massive universe about it.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

The best way to describe the Halo universe would be "epic".

Firstly, the factions. The series starts with humans, by now space-faring and capable of faster-than-light travel, with all of this futuristic technology like MJOLNIR. Then you meet the Covenant, whose plasma weaponry makes the assault rifle you're holding look like a BB gun. Not to mention the fact that they're multiple alien races fanatically devoted to Forerunners and their technology, who they see as gods. Finally you come across the Flood. When I first saw the Flood, at the age of seven, I was more than a tad afraid. Having body-snatching, mutating parasites shooting at you in addition to the Covenant really added a lot to the gameplay perspective.

Then comes the story. For me, I've yet to play an FPS where the story is as awe-inspiring and immersing as the Halo series. The way the story progresses from one game to the next is second to none. The characters and their development are unparalleled.

Finally, what I love about the Halo series so much is the multiplayer. There is nothing more fun than playing custom games with your friends, no matter what you're doing in that game.

Subject: Wht is the reason you love so much the halo universe?

It has amazing characters ( John, Halsey, Keyes, Kurt ect...) that are actually believable and although sometimes the spartans do amazing things such as linda coming back from being technicallly dead they are still human and throughout the books you follow their progression. Also ODSTs are about the most badass military unit taking the SAS and beefing them up 10 fold. Also MAC Cannons.
