Does anybody have an idea what the damaged archs in the background might be? I think they look like bridges from Halo 2. However, I have also considered that maybe they are the numerous halos in the universe, but then I don't understand why they crashed into Earth. Any ideas?...

Whales that died in the desert after they were catapulted by ill-mannered bass living in the ocean.

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

Yeah totally whose diameter is almost as big as the earths crashed into the earth taking up less then half a mile of space up. Sure good theory try again...

Thats the top of the bridge from the third level in halo 2 all that wreckage is whats left of new mombasa.

As much as they do resemble whale carcases launched by very large trebuchets(In the future trebuchets will be that good lol), They are infact the arches of the bridge to New Mombasa that masterchief previously crossed.

Can't be the bridge. Just wreakage from the battles.

I never gave this second thought when i first saw it. Definitely the bridge in New Mombasa (which is now a destroyed wasteland, obviously)

You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.

"Oh Molly Connoly ruined my life, I thought the world should know."

Lesse...

In Halo 2, the covie were all over the location of New Mombasa and Old Mombasa, LOOKING for something.

In the novels, they were in a particular area LOOKING FOR SOMETHING...

So...

We can assume that those arches are the remains of the bridge from New Mombasa/Old Mombasa. And where the Ark is located.... Well, it fits.

Yes, it's the ark, it has to be.

Here's an interesting tidbit you may not know...

In the bible... Noah survived the Flood by staying in the Ark for 40 days and 40 nights....

Could our human bible lore have something to do with the Flood and the Forerunner?

Fascinating, isn't it!

I think they are seperate halos that were maybe activated ? Which might corrdinate with the opening of the Ark? Maybe while you are near the Ark it is a safe haven I have no clue what I am talking about...

Maybe it's on its side now. Perhaps said structure used to be like floating rings or something, and it got knocked over in the battle.

What if they are the MAC platforms. And they fell to earth because of that giant sorm. They are basically the same shape.

A: No, they're not the same shape
B: Even if they were, a MAC platform would have disintigrated in the atmosphere.

Well theres no way they can be halos considering that a halo is a planet... and it would take years to circle one on foot... and if those were Halos and you wanted to circle one on foot it would take you a few hours... Oh and I'm with those of you who think its the bridge... maybe... I dont know...

never mind I jus rewatched that part again theres no way thats the bridge either cause its too circular... if you turn on you Xbox and watch the opening screen long enough you'll see the bridge and the part that suspends the bridge there is more oval shaped than circular...

Home is were the Hog is.

Bungie has said what they are.

"According to the Bungie website, scenes in the trailer are mixtures of different scenes and animations from the actual game, which include the space elevator wreckage that Master Chief walks through at the beginning of the trailer."

I don't think its the Ark. If you actually watch the video at the end it charges up and then fires. The Ark is supposed to be an activation point, that is like a covenant weapon. (maybe)

Broken pieces of the New Mombassa Space Elavator that the Covenant used to make pretty archs that celebrate their victory.
