EXACTLY! The bridge was over water, so where did the water go? I know it could have been sucked up from the slipspace thing when the covie ship jumped. Buuuuut why are there fully grown trees where the water should have been? Why is there a road? And a sign? So it has to be somewhere else. The Halos are WAY to big to be those, and last I checked the Zanzibar wheel was near an ocean and was not held in place by those giant wires. Anything falling in the atmosphere would have wiped out the plant life upon impact, too.

They are the same shape genius. circle. and there are like four of them, so one of those cluster things they had set up in space might have fallen. AND it wouldn't disintigrate because today satellites fall from space and dont disintigrate, How would a futuristic sturcture made of some futuristic metal disintigrate. Maybe they decided to go backwards in the technology they use, right??

Well IT has to be The Mombassa Bridge, One it looks exactly like it. Two look at the proximity of the Forerunner Artifact and the Brige then we must remember Mombassa was the ONLY place the covenant decided to land<Quote from Cortana

Oh and there are 7 Halo's

Bungie has said what they are.

"According to the Bungie website, scenes in the trailer are mixtures of different scenes and animations from the actual game, which include the space elevator wreckage that Master Chief walks through at the beginning of the trailer."

From : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_3

I don't see how you can argue with this. Go to the site he mentions, the quote is listed under Confirmed Facts. And if you don't trust wikipedia... what can you trust?

It is not the bridge in New Mombasa. If you look carefully you can see that they bear no resemblance at all. It is not the fan from Zanzibar because this is the middle of the desert and it is far to big anyway. I think it is the ruins of the space elevator that most likely toppled over after Regret jumped out of system. You can see that the archs are all lined up with New Mombasa. You can see the ruins of the city in the background at the time when the device is firing.

If any of you geniuses took the time to explore the new Halo 3 section of the site, you would have found this in the "Announcement FAQ":

Q

I spotted an Easter Egg in the trailer after I watched it a few times. How do you explain that?

A

The New Mombasa City Council had an incredibly efficient public works department until and even during the tragic and devastating Covenant invasion.

There you have it. Directly from Bungie themselves. Now please stop the speculation that they are wreckage from battles, 3 different Halos, or any other such nonsense. If you want to see for yourself, click Halo 3 under current projects and click Announcement FAQ

Formerly known as HunTERminator

I don't belive taht they are the Halos because of the one in the foreground. It is closer that the mountain far behind it and is only slightly small, if at all (due to perspective). The halos were many thousands of times the size of that.

Wow, I thought it was the New Mombasa bridge, but I went back and played Metropolis, and I changed my answer. Board a banshee yourself and fly around it. They are much different. I still think it is most likely a bridge, with what look like support cables hanging off. New Mombasa was an island, so there are most likely more than one bridge.

alright. i have my science book rigvht here. those aren't the halos in the backround. the halos diameter is 100,000 kilometers. and the sun's diamter is 1.4 million, including it's atmosphere. those halos wouldn't be on earth.

Actually, there were seven rings. There are only six rings left. One was destroyed by the Master Chief when he set off the Pillar of Autumn's engines.
