Subject: Stop Being so Damn Super Cerial!

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

In these dark times, it seems that the Bungie.net community forum has been itself far too seriously. Threads involving: moderation injustices, splinter groups, the future, and B.net 'flaws, have all been something discussed for pages, more pages, and more pages...

I think the Bungie Community forum should be mostly filled with threads involving: lame inside jokes, having a laugh with the employee's, organizing some carnage etc. As opposed to super cerial debate on very minor issues, e.g. a 'block' feature.

Your thoughts?

Well, actually, that's all it's ever been, from what I've seen.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I think it is both what you stated it currently is and what it should be.

  • 01.03.2012 6:44 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

I don't have a problem with most of the threads here...

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

While most of the threads appear to be "serious", many of the responses exhibited are some of the examples you provided in your second paragraph.

Then again, ones which are taken seriously usually are interesting to read through, and participating in these discussions can be interesting.

Basically, I make the best topics ever.

Feedback!
Duardo: This thread is locked for being stupid.
cortana 5 : It's perpetually my time of the month and I'm just grouchy.
Foman: I see absolutely no reason, either theoretical or practical, that this is not a superb idea. Excellent work, my friend.

Most serious topics aren't serious.

Maybe it's just me...

Some days it is fine, but lately I have noticed a growth in super cerial threads which seem to keep being reproduced.

"No, Hoobla. No."

New Games = Threads about games
New Updates = Threads about updates
Bungie Events = Threads about the event(s)
None of the above = Pissed off community that starts complaining

cars, girls & cake all day everyday

The problem is these damn "Why do you post on bungie.net?" "What compells you to post in a thread?" "Why did you make your account?" threads. -blam!-, why did YOU make your account? Why do YOU post in threads? Why do you care what my reasons are? (ok that question was a bit of a stretch, sometimes I actually get curious and indulge in those conversations)

Problem is there's nothing much to talk about...but I guess people still feel bored and make threads just to have stuff to talk about. But it's all weird, touchy-feely stuff.

Sometimes I wish I was on the internet a lot earlier so I could have taken that handle. So badass.

Seriously, is there a contest between you moderators as to whom can derail this most the threads in a specific period of time?

Stay on topic, otherwise I'll have to report you.

Edit: -blam!-.

Yeah, I hate those super serious topics. Complaining about something or other. Kind of like this topic here, it only complains, the original poster could of easily fixed their problem themselves anyway, if he only had the time or will to do so.

Anyway, I see no problem with the current topics. If you want lighter subjects, you can look to the flood. I myself enjoy the discussion value in this forum, even if there is little to talk about "in these dark times".

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Hey, I was trying to motivate you super cerial bastards to become a bit more churpy round these parts.

I failed... miserably.

Its kind of hard to have discussions when nothing is serious.

Hmmm, I haven't made a thread like this in a while

I don't know, I haven't thought of any good fun/funny threads lately. I've been mainly caught up with the seriousness I guess.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

The community has and always will be the same.
