Subject: Changing Bungie's Domain Registrar from GoDaddy

I don't know what Bungie's stance on SOPA is. I'm hoping they're on the side of the people and do not want to naively censor the Internet.

If you are against SOPA Bungie, will you move your Domains (bungieaerospace.com etc) from GoDaddy? GoDaddy are scumbags and co-wrote SOPA. Thousands of other people have moved their domains from GoDaddy to show they are against SOPA and do not want to support it or GoDaddy's ethics.

You guys care too much.

WTF is a SOPA? I know what a sopaipilla is, and it's delicious.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

I don't think they care enough to get entwined in political affairs.

Also, does transferring domains cost money (how much; where to)?

This is important. Everyone should read it.
You guys need to know about these kind of things. And yes, transferring does cost money. If Bungie is against SOPA, I believe they should switch if they're registered with GoDaddy.

Basically a law that will allow the US government to censor the Internet. They will be able to shutdown websites like Bnet just because 1 person posted a linked to copyright material.

Well the Law directly concerns an area Bungie owe most of their revenue from, copyright material. So yes it does have something to do with Bungie.

Transferring your domains is easy I transferred 3 domains from GoDaddy a few weeks ago. NameCheap.com is a good registrar.

Here is a guide on how to transfer from GoDaddy

You can additionally use the coupons:
NoDaddy
SOPAsucks

The cost of transferring 3 of my domains was $36 with privacy on all of the, 1 SSL certificate for $1.99. To be honest transferring is peanuts for Bungie and it would really show their views on the matter a lot.

It's not very political. It's just stupid if you learned what the bill actually allows and know how the internet works.

Sadly pathetic responses like yours will not help prevent this law passing.

I was a finalist :P

Why would SOPA shut down a site based on what a user posts in a thread? Does the site actually get "prosecuted" despite having no control over a specific user posting copyrighted third party material?

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

I'm confident that, even if SOPA is passed, it'd end up being ruled as unconstitutional in a few years time.

  • 01.03.2012 11:36 PM PDT

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Exactly. I would still change registrars, just to be safe.

Of course. Nothing speaks louder than the American Dollar.

Except the Euro.

And most other currencies nowadays.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

I fully support the proposal. Companies that support SOPA do not deserve the respect nor currency of anyone.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

In the interests of balance, I should point out that the law actually says nothing like this whatsoever.

read it for yourself

I'd particularly reference this part

Awfully strange name, though. Godaddy. godaddy. GoDaddy.
Hmm...

Funny thing about the bill. It punishes more innocents than guilty. Also, the chances of it stopping piracy are probably so slim, it doesn't exist. All it'll do is cause people who didn't know they were "pirating" to end up paying a hefty fine.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Does this mean I can't post pictures of Danica Patrick here anymore?
