Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.
-blam!- all of you fanboys!
Actually, I think ALL STAT TRACKING for ALL VIDEO GAMES should be completely scrapped...taken out.
Get people playing games for the game. instead of for a -blam!- number.
Because when people play for a number.
The enjoyment factor of that game goes down the -blam!-er for most players. Except for the people who play like -blam!-es just so they can show off their number to a bunch of -blam!-s on a forum.
Funnest game ever made. Shadowrun. No stat Tracking in that game whatsoever except for hitting back during the current game being played.
It's only downfall was it's singular mode of play. Which followed to closely to Counter Strikes singular mode of play.
Yet it probably failed mostly cause -blam!-es like you couldn't jerk off to a number.
Ultimately, stat tracking leads to killstreaks, spawn killing, spawn camping, cheating, etc.
Eventually you asshats are going to want rewards as soon as you enter a match just because your history of numbers is better than their history of numbers.
Why is it widely considered that the nothing compares to the original Halo? Because people played it for fun instead of a number.
And you're talking about playing Halo Multiplayer through a Laggy ass 3rd party tunneling software. And I still have better memories than anything from Halo 2 to now.
Just Imagine for a second, if CTF games did NOT track k/d ratios? How much better off it would be as a gametype.
You'd actually get teammates willing to risk their dicks to help capture that -blam!- thing, instead hiding back like a bunch of cowards trying to preserve their stats.
The tracking of K/D Ratios...ruined objective gametypes.
But you probably don't care, considering that most FPS I play, over half the community that plays it...sits in the basic team Slayer playlist all day anyway. I think maybe its because you people care TOO much about you K/D in relation to your W/L ratio, or the thought of having a secondary objective is just too much for you. Mindlessly killing people just to kill people is stupid. You should get in the habit of killing people for a greater purpose.
