Subject: Some Interesting Bungie Facts You May Not Know.......

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

More ancient history on the way.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

You're missing a significant milestone in there...

Bungie.net was the name of the Myth "metaserver" that allowed for multiplayer gaming and chat in Myth online play. The website companion of it was created for Myth 2 in 1997. That website was retired and the Halo-era site (with the fanclub chapters) launched on November 15th, 2001. This site was radically overhauled both visually and in the base code (as in, we threw out the old code completely) in April 2004, to ready ourselves for the onslaught of Halo 2. Bungie.net's basic systems have been iterated on significantly since then, but it is still recognizable as that 2004 site from a code point of view.

re-launched? lolwut? Pretty sure they didn't get disbanded at all in between CE and Halo 2...

I'm just quoting it straight from the book, and it says "relaunched".

I got more for you

Playing too much marathon equals Barf

All the Bugs for Marathon were written on a Pizza box

The marathon scrapbook was originally 700 pages long, but was condensed to 30 pages.

The only way to get this scrapbook is by buying Marathon Trilogy box set
Whoa! Marathon facts, nice find dude.

This whole book I have is FULL of Marathon and Bungie facts.

I even have pics of Minotaur gameplacy, operation desert storm, and Gnop. Infact, I got a free copy of Gnop and Pathways into Darkness when I bought my Trilogy set.
Where can you buy this?

That is the tricky, the Marathon Trilogy Box set was made in 1997. You could check Ebay *wink, wink

People sell them sometimes.

I tis really cool to see a Bungie game other than Halo and from that long ago. Marathon and Myth where huge in the late 90's. Marathon had a pretty good story for an FPS and Myth revolutionized the RTS genera. (Becuase Myth had you only have 1 army (no units can be built) and by using the surrounding environment to your advantage, you could win battles with a few good strategies).

We’re flawed because we want so much more. We’re ruined because we get these things and wish for what we had.

Bungie's name is a result of a dirty joke.

Soffish was originally found in a dollar store.

Marty had a mullet.

Lol mullet Marty. You know for some reason I kinda think he looked like Gabe Newell like that O~0

Join the Bungie Kids Podcast Group!

Listen to our podcast and listen to us talk about the latest Bungie news and Halo: Reach updates!

When I grow up, I want to be just like goofenhour.

Martin O'Donnell and Mike Salvatori originally contracted with Bungie in 1996 with their company TotalAudio. Marty became a full employee in 2000, 10 days before Microsoft purchased Bungie. Mike Salvatori stayed on the business side of the TotalAudio company and worked continued to work on Bungie titles, such as Oni and Halo, and other projects non-Bungie related.

After 15 years of Mike Salvatori working with Marty on the audio of Bungie titles, he finally became a full time employee at Bungie in late 2011 and is currently working on the new title.

That's all I got as of right now.
