I got this from halopedia.org so dont tell me i took it from there or anything, cuz i know i did.

----The name of the Ark refers to the biblical story of the Noah's Ark that was built to save Noah's family and a number of animals from a massive flood, but it's possible that it has a double meaning referencing to the Ark of the Covenant. "the ark saves humanity from the flood" ----

I think that what happened was that the flood were created a long time ago by the forerunners (and this is a theory, the humans are the forerunners) and the flood killed all the humans, while the ark was built to protect a few humans, prolly little kids at the age of 4 or something. Because the 4-year-olds weren't big enought, the flood couldnt kill them and the flood died off. The infants didnt know anything, climbed out of the ark and continued on w/ life from the age of 4.

This is also why MC knows how to activate the energy bridge on "Halo" in Halo CE, and why 343 GS calls MC reclaimer.

I know i may have confused you, but it all makes sense too me. Forerunner is an ancestor, a predecessor.

*Rhetorical Question* Is this a coincedince or did Bungie pull this one on purpose?

Well my theory is similar. I do believe that the Humans are a less evolved version of the Forerunners. Which is ironic because the Covenant are systimaticaly trying to kill their Gods. But any way, i think the Ark was built by the Forerunners, as well as Earth itself. Just like Reach, i think Earth is a Forerunner made planet. Think about it, they can make Halo's with Earth atmospheres and gravity. I also believe that in the movie clip, the object we saw was not the Ark. I think it may have been, a tunnle like there was on Reach into the centre (or near that) of earth to get the Key (like the Index) to activate the real Ark.
Also all humans are Reclaimers. As 343 calls Miranda Keyes a Reclaimer too.
I think this is possible for three reasons:

1.Either they are given the task of activating Halo and using the Index, thus the title Reclaimer (thou this is not true, because When MC meets the Gravemind with Arbiter the "Orcal" says 'A reclaimer here? Impossible!"

2. They are the Forerunner and are given the title Reclaimer because they are back to Re-claim thier title as the Forerunners

3. Cos bungie want to trip us out on wacked out theroys.

Just my theory!

I think this topic has already been over-dicussed.

Well, I have some theories, but wont post them here. If you look at the (closed after 3 minutes already) H3 trailer theories thread, you might find it.

BTW: These forums really suck, you cant say anything cuz you immediatly get blocked or your thread is being closed. Yo mods, do something usefull and leave us just talking about H3. What the hell do you care if there are 1000 different threads????????? Seriously, this H3 forum thing is no fun at all cuz you keep closing every thing. Most important, you moved the H3 ideas thread here, which I have been personally moderating from page 30 till 248. We wanted to close it, but now that you moved it here, you made it like a cheap h**ker that is now getting raped......seriously.
Just leave us do what we want, to make these forums more fun. Cuz i bet in the next hour or so, some moderator will come here in this thread, saying there is already one about this theory and then closes it. Not fun at all for the people that made it!!!!

If you remember the Maw in Halo 1, in the cut scene where guilty spark takes the self destruct sequence of line, you'll hear him say: "...a record of all our lost time!" (I've forgotten what he says just before). That was the first clue to me that the forerunners were humans: then the name makes sense. However, he also says: "human history is it? Fascinating." Which sounds like an odd thing to say. And yes, the story is tieing in woth the Bible.

Spartan 117 is named that because John 117 is a bible thing. I can't remember exactly what it was but it was something to do with saving the world. Please correct me if I am wrong.

These Sentinels will supplement your combat system. But, I suggest you upgrade to at least a Class Twelve combat skin. Your current model only scans as a Class Two, which is ill suited for this kind of work.

The name was in the books, and yes it was John 117. I don't know if it's a reference to a bible verse: The only one that might fit would be first John, chapter one, verse seven. It mentions the light, walking in the light and being saved with the rest of the fellowship. Seems more of a covanant reference then a Spartan reference, I think it's just a coincidence.

How the hell dopes he know? just go to the bible smart one and nseach up John 1:17
and there you'll find your answer

  • 05.12.2006 7:36 AM PDT

why does it matter what names are used? If the name fits the noun it's representing then it fits! It's not some conspiracy

I dont think that any of these references to the bible are coincedences. There is another one from revalation about the 7th trumpet, and a storm and something like that. Think about it, the trumpet fanfare in the trailor. There is no way that there can be so many coincedences related to the bible.

  • 05.12.2006 11:22 AM PDT

This is from the bible, it is John 1:6-1:18. It seems to me like MC could be considered the person being described. I'm not saying I think that the bible is predicting MC, I'm not that crazy. I am just saying that Bungie could have used this.

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' " From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

If you take the Halo story as in the Flood story in the Bible you could make some connections.

1. Noah could be thought of as the Master Chief; he rounds up everyone and brings them into the Ark.

2. The Flood consumes the world, Earth, except for the Ark. Probably the Covenant also but maybe the get spared too.

3. They wait it out. Hey maybe that crystal shard from the Halo Novels has some part, since they have time bending capabilities the Ark would fast forward time until the flood recedes so that the survivors can come out and prosper again!

i have toagree. i thoughtof the same thing. the ark and the covenant. in the bible it says that if any unholly man touches the ark or uses it to do evil he shall surely die, but if a holly man seeks to do rightous things with it such as saving humanity then he shall not die. so in my theory the flood where created by colonol akrenson while he was creating the cloned spartons on the rings. the flood could be muffed up expierments gone wrong so he cotained them and when he needed to let them lose to prevent the covenant from activating the arc. in the trailer it doesnt show who activates the arc. so maybe the original reclaimer activates it and since he is holly it will save humanity rather than destroy it. the arck can destroy and create t. colonol akrenson must have known this cuz he could be a forerunner ancester so its his duty to make sure that the covenant are near so when the original reclaimer activates the arc it will destroy the covenant and create knew worlds to inhabit. the onlyway to get the covenant close eunuf was to plant the FAKE AI of cortana on the ship with the NAV points to where the arc is. any way thats my theory, feel free to elaberate on it. or email me
