Bullets hurt right? They kill people right?
So why advance further in that field? Duh...

Yes. And swords and arrows kill people too? Your point?

Slipspace/hyperdrive engine? Theres a prototype hyperdrive engine to be used in 2010-12 to prove if the theory really is correct. Or...just an attempt.

Energy shields? We're not too far from it. 10-100 years at most.

Genetic enhancements? We got it. We can actually enhance people before they're even born, but its now illegal because it may stop our natural course of evolution.

----

Really, I just think its just because of the lack of funding with the governments being cheap. Still, they got MAC guns which prove to be quite effective.

They have those super MAC guns, energy shields and even worked on a rifle that can take out an elite in a single burst. Oh, and exo-suits along with powerarmors

If they'd actually use that technology more often or had it before Harvest as standard issue weaponry, we would be much more effective than the Covies. But I think we still may lose in the long run since they outnumber us so badly.

Well yes we got the idea from the elites energy sheilds but it isn't their armour. Even in the manual it tells that it's due to a magnetic force in their skin that creates a type of over sheild.
Us humans in the game invented the energy part by ourselves.

You know, if we have those mark7 suits and mark 6 suits why don't we give a few to our marines in the game. Teach them how to use them and you have some pretty good soliders in that game.

Read the books. The humans stole the covenant energy shield technology and upgraded it for the spartans.

And no, normal soldiers can't use the armor. The spartans are cyborgs, and the nerves are connected directly to the suit. Or? And didn't the manual also say that the chief weighs about half a ton with the suit on?

You can't outrun Death for ever.

But you can make the bastard work for it.

HALO 3

The marines dont have it because the suit makes you move 6 times or more and chiefs bones are alot stronger. It says in the books the marines bones were braken because of the speed.

No sense in spending money on lasers and other weapons when the bullet works just fine.

It's due to the limited imagination of the creators. You expect them to dream up every technological innovation for the next 500 years?

yes many facets of human technolgy seem to inferior then they should be considering the rate of progress we witness today. I have a long theory for this that i will be posting later.

I like how halo didn't go overextravagant into new technologies, that would've made it stupid. For example, Perfect Dark for 64 was like twenty years in the future and they had all of these guns that were awesome, but all the stupid little secondary mode things and they advanced technology made the story stupid because you could barely grasp any of it, fun game though.

So if the Pillar of Autumn had ginormous lasers able to destroy halo with one hit, or the battle rifle had homing bullets...it would be dumb!

I think that making one of those ships such as the Pillar of Autumn or Inamber Clad would take so long to design and build that it basically takes up all the time between then. Also, MC has a frickin' invincible suit of armor and each marine has a helmet with video/audio communication, basically a pc in the helmet. I do believe that it is very advanced considering that is only 500-600 years in the future. In Halo humans also inhabited other planets... something we aren't even close to doing, so that should explain why we don't have lasers zapping stuff.

Audio/video in the helmet is not advanced at all. We currently have guns that literally shoot bolts of electricity from the barells. We will definatly have lasers in less than 500 years.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

The only thing that goes with 500 years in the future is that we have colonized over 800 worlds.
