I'm sure they just seem confusing because this is the first time you've seen them. I bet they'll become second nature once you start playing the game and you won't even notice them, or you'll learn to love them for their intended uses.

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Do you want them to put "Reload" and "No Grenades" back up there?
Knowing that the enemy still has the flag or if it has been dropped is a must.

Who says it isn't realistic, he is wearing a machine you know. With a display screen (HUD) that I'm sure could really display all of those things by the year 2552.

Yeah, all of those icons are only for your teammates. Your enemies don't have them.

well thats a relief, i still dont like them, and when i have the game i will never get used to them, HOPEFULLY we can turn them off, just like we could turn off, indicators and radar in Halo 1

there is on major flaw in this statement, you haven't played Halo 2 yet, therefore you really don't know if you'll get use to it or not. Of course, I'm sure they will have the option of turning the indicators off like they did in the first game.

Those are your teammates. Same as the green arrow above their head only now improved.

improved......personally i dont think it needed improving, a green triangle was all anyone needs, and besides, hardly anyone plays with those indicators on anyway

yes, i pray you can turn it off

How do you know hardly anyone plays with them on? Do you know every single person that plays Halo to make an accurate judgement of hardly anyone really is. Just because you and the people you play with don't use the indicators that often doesn't mean that hardly anyone does. Especially if its only for teammates, I'd love to be able to use those indicators. They can help better strategize team coordination, and if a teammate is under fire I want be running around in circles trying to find him.

It solves this problem. Increase your team strategy and it is realistic becasuse our soldiers today know where their fellow soldiers on the battle field are. But you probably can turn it off, but I think most won't.

We're pretty happy with the changes we've made to the in-game waypoints; you'll know much more about your teammates and what they're up to in the field, but without any of that annoying text cluttering up your screen. There's this annoying thing you get in FPS's where you can talk where people just panic and can't adequately describe their position. No more "help! I need cover!!" "where?" "over... over here! By that thing! With the glowy - -blam!- I'm dead"; the game will take care of a lot of that for you.

I actually don't think the new health symbol is too bad, its just different. That said, I liked having all the tick marks, but as Cheif Mendez taught the Spartans:"Adapt or Die" ( I couldn't resist). Of course, it isn't even the final version, but I doubt they would change it back. And this is off topic, but in the pictures with the smg, dosn't it seem like a compact assault rifle? (after all, it has the same reticule, and the same number of bullets). Ok, that said, that dosen't mean it has to be a compact twin, but I just thought I would bring it up (off topic or not).

I couldn't let stupidity of this magnitude go unchecked so this is my first post in this forum.

The icons you see represent your teammates. They are customizable. So take my screen name - 2.Rounds - I could have a white 2 on a transparent background (made using a simple icon paint interface) and my teammates would know that it was me instead of an anonymous green marker over yonder. Also, if I'm taking fire my teammates see a red outline on my icon, yellow if I'm firing, and blue if i'm normal. This is the kind of communication aid that I would fully expect to have if my teammates and I were all donning 6th generation cybernetic battle armor in the year 2552.
