What if it was in BTB? Should it be? The FRG is.

Is the Target Locator really even OP? It has a huge teleprompted delay before it fires, you'd have to be retarded to run into its visible target area on an open BTB map like Hemmorhage...unless you've been in scope for too long. Derp.

It would be fun to lock onto a Warthog/Mongoose and watch the diamond follow them until the air strike hit.
It's even in Firefight, why not matchmaking...?

You can "accidentally" lock onto the first friendly warthog you see in ONI, the warthog blows up by itself anyway, but the target will 'chase' it until the missiles drop.
Or you can just target the Wraiths you see after grabbing the TL in ONI, it follows them too.

My immediate response when I saw the topic thread was 'oh dear, too overpowered', but realistically I think it could work, especially if the red 'target area' was visible to both teams. As you said, it takes a long time to fire and it could be a great resource in removing things such as Hemorrhage/Abridged shotgun-objective-campers. I don't think it would work on maps such as Boneyard, where there are several major spawn-points close to each other.

I agree, a map like Boneyard has too many 'ceiling' areas that would be safe from the blast.
But for Hemorrhage, Spire, and the Paradiso maps, it could be fun.
