Subject: 64 Player LAN Party possible in Halo 2!!! (Quotes from BBC interview)

Quote from BBC interview at E3 with Max Hoberman, multiplayer lead developer at Bungie Studios:

He said at least 16 people would be able to play online. Offline, via a local area network, he said 16 Xboxes could be linked together, hinting at the possibility of games with 64 players.
"We have 16 boxes linked together here. No-one's noticed that yet," he said.

I saw this and thought I would just throw it out there for you guys. Hype or not?
(For those of you who don't know who the BBC is, it is the British Broadcast Corp... it's basically the NBC of England.)

Now I got Eagle - master of all theories - backing up my thoughts

It's possible; there is a lot about this game that we don't know; on top of that, Bungie is owned by MS, so expect cutting-edge technology to be available to Bungie exclusively

Dude, if that is possible it woulfbe awesome. Effin' aweseome. You'd need an organised event to get all those people, and i think everyone in the game would need at least a 1mpbs connection. Nice idea though

Halo 2 is going to be the game to define Xbox Live. With that MS will provide Bungie what ever they need to make it the game to have for multiplayer.

Frankie said that you could have 16 Xboxs hooked together for 16 players each with his/her own screen. But there is a possibilty, but I doubt it.

That may be a fake update so don't quote it until Bungie veryfies it.

I've read this supposed update, but I personally will have to wait untill it's put in the Bungie archives before I'm a hundered % on it. Fankie said that he wouldn't be at E3, if I'm not mistaken, in last weeks update. Doesn't this update come straight from the floor of E3, or by a generator at the back of the floor.

Either way, the reason I posted this quote is because it is from one of the most highly respected news agency in the world, not some gaming mag. It doesn't seem likely that the BBC would be reporting hype. I guess we'll just have to wait???

P.S.
Thanks for the props MakaVeli4LIfe1

No no, Frankie is at E3

I even got a picture of him, talking or just demonstrating a retarded face :)

And I'm pretty sure that's Frank

Oh??? Well, if that is Frankie, I have no idea if it is, we now have some evidence to add to this whole "It's not a real update from Frankie" discussion. Good investigating:)

I wouldn't exactly say that seeing him there coordinates with how he could of gave an update; my reasons are simply that it isn't on the Bungie.net homepage

Every other update has done this; and if you don't remember with the last fake one, I think it was Sketch who said "to see if it's real, check the Bungie.net homepage; if it's not there, it's fake"

It's fake...

Yea, I'm still not 100% on this update. I just thought I remembered reading that Frankie wasn't going to be at E3, maybe that's his evil twin???
