Subject: Will the Bungie.net community wither away?

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

The old that is strong does not wither.

A very small fraction of my time spent on this site has something to do with games. So even if bungie's next game flopped, I'd still be here.
I am in the same boat. I come for community interaction not purely for the games.

No, Bungie's community will not wither away. I think most of us still posting right now are dedicated users and the forums are still running fine without Halo and updates.

You will be begging for mercy when the site is flooded with new members once again.
Like you have done many times before, Yuke.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You did a great service to the Bungie community by making Coup de Bungie and other useful and fun scripts for the site. Coup was a way we could all have fun and enjoy our time here with more customization options.

It is things like that which are the reason our community will not fall.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

We will be getting waves of new community members when Bungie announces and releases their new game, so the community won't wither away. As for the remaining members of the community bound to shrink down to the most dedicated members, I don't think that it's ever going to reach that point due to the sheer amount of members still on this site and how Bungie actually cares about their community.

Real account.

Join me as we make new friends from different communities!

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Eventually we'll die out, with probably one guy too stubborn to leave that posts to himself.

Well spank my balls and call me Santa, it's Easter already!

This is by far one of the most active developer forums, despite tha lack of video games atm. Also, its got one of the best off topic forums (IMO) which isnt covered in gross pictures.

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

I like it here, just because Bungie.net has the best forums on the internet. Coup, great layout, easy to use, good trolls and all.

I think the population may dwindle some though, but not to much. Bungie's next game will boost it I'm thinking.

And being the only member Bungie would need a mod so he would be that mod and ban himself for all the spamming he would be doing then there would be no one

O_o

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

Considering how surprisingly lively Myth and Marathon communities still are, I'd actually expect the Bungie community to long outlive Bungie itself.

Yeah, pretty much the same for me. I haven't posted in one of the game forums in probably over a year. I post in groups, the Flood (mainly), community forum, and Bungie universe.
