I have a question for you all...just because the Sangheili and crew broke off from the Covenant, why would that make them hate us any less?

The Covenant are a tight coalition of races bent on discovering and praising whatever Forerunner technology they can. They are HIGHLY RELIGIOUS technophiles, and even though the civil war has broken out, do people forget their religious convictions? No.

The Elites still think humanity is a abomination (gasp, we have no right to be naming ships! Blasphemy!) and they'll still kill us. We're unclean. We're not right. We're vile.

So, I really doubt that theres gonna be a Human/Elite alliance. Plus, who's to say that news of the Civil War even escaped Delta Halo's vicinity?

I agree, it'll probably just turn from a 3 way war into a 4 way war.

you know what the perfect ending would be? the elites winning the war, destroying the ark, and enslaving humanity. they hate the brutes too much though so they would just kill them off.

"It is a poor soldier who insists on seeing things not as they are, but as he wants them to be. One day reality hits, and his illusions fail him, and he dies stupidly. What honor is there in that?"
-Thel 'Vadam

if anyone read the Halo 2 conversations from the universe booklet it says that the Elites somewhat honor the humans persistance to win the war, add that to finding out that thier "great journey" is acutally gonna kill them all and that thier religion is false. besides the arbiter will definatly team up with miranda keyes and SGT johnson and tell other Elites to join him with the humans. more than likely it will be the humans who wont want to be allies at first. if an alien race that slaughtered millions of your people maybe even family decided to join you, would you accept right away?

I see it like this, Covenant Ninth Age Of Raclamation (or whatever it was) = Human Middle Ages

Explanation: Humans: Big religous leader lead the world with an iron fist, everything that is said against him and the religion is equal to death

Covenant: Big religous leaders lead the covenant with iron fists, Everything that is said against them and their religion is equal to death

Let's say that all races in the universe go through this "evolution". Humans have passed that stage a long time ago, while the covenant still is in that stage. So are the Prophets and elites only new born races? The answer why they are further than humans in technology is becasue they use forerunner technology.

Let's see it this way too. Covenant don't use tactics, only simple ones that are easily countered, while humans have complicated tactics that needs some thinking before countering. In the middle ages wasn't it " decide town to attack, run in there, kill, and die trying to take it" similar to the covenant "tactics"

As the Covenant uses forerunner technology they don't really develop new stuff and don't know how to use it properly. Humans have developed their own technology so they understand it better and how to use it to get out the maximum.

Several other things too.
