WARNING SPOILERS
In the second installment of the Forerunner Trilogy, it is revealed that there is a connection between 343 Guilty Spark and Chakas. When 343i took the helm of Halo they explained that all pieces of Halo Canon would intertwine together. I could not wait to see what they had in store. Thankfully, Primordium fits together with other Halo Canon like a puzzle piece like they said would happen.
The biggest connection I found was a connection that can confirm wholly that Chakas is 343 Guilty Spark AND how Chakas got to the state of being obsessed with his Installation.
In the second Terminal I found this:
" 'I am experiencing such a mixture of anticipation and dread. All preparations are complete for my installation. In accordance with the final dictum of the Ecumene Council, I have released myself of all remaining connections to my former station.' "
Upon first hearing this I was confused and interested on the history of 343, because I had originally thought he was created for the purpose of Installation 04.
However, with the release of Primordium and the apparent fact that Chakas was turned into 343, I realized that this is completely confirmed. When 343 talks about his "former station" I could only guess that he was still Chakas before that time.
Now, the reason why his personality went under such a massive change is that the job of monitoring a Halo must be VERY secret. Therefore, he needed to erase all traces of his original Human personality.
How did his Human personality and memories get to this ruined data core in Primordium if he eliminated his Human side?
Well, based on the part of the book where Chakas said he didn't want his Geas to take over, I pieced together the fact that he still wanted to preserve his humanity and therefore sent his Human side to this data box.
I think this theory fits together pretty good, what do you guys think?
