What good would a supersoldier be in a time of peace? He would have no idea what to do with himself. I'm sure he sacrifices himself to save humanity.

We'll settle this the old navy way; The first guy to die, LOSES! (President Thomas 'Tug' Benson)

I don't think he will die in the end of the game, but definatly in the books, when bungie decides they are really done with halo.

There is no other appropriate finish for a character so loved, and the emotional reaction it would invoke in the player would be intense. Besides what would a Cyborg that has only known war his whole life do when it's over?

His death would be a good way to finish off the trilogy.

YOU ARE ALL IDIOTS! How can we vote if we have no way of knowing! For crying outloud we only saw a 2 min. trailer that might not have had anything to do with the game, PLEASE DO NOT JUMP THE GUN!

I think everyone dies at the end,
hello, giant universe killing machines,
kinda big and circle-ish?
ringing any bells?

  • 05.12.2006 12:12 AM PDT

Honestly, I believe he will. And honestly, it will be extremely sad. Its just like a beloved movie character, it is sad even if it isnt real.

Although, I always though it would be cool, IF The Ark was a haven from the flood and the effects of HALO (Like Noah's Ark, protected from the flood), and the Chief gathered as many as he could and got on it, only to be greeted by the remaining spartans.. theyd be like the gaurdians insuring the human race (the civis) survived during the time after the arks activation. obviously this is vague and sounds boring at first glance, but I think you may gather what I am getting at. a final uniting of the remaining spartans, it could still make sense to people who still believe the chief is the only one left, as it could be slightly explained (Meaning people who have not read the books.)

I think I might've replied to a similiar topic with the same opinion. I say that he doesn't die. Because everyone is expecting him to die, it's like something that everyone is so sure will happen. But as we know, Bungie likes to surprise and keep secrets. What good would it be if we all predicted exactly what happened? I know there are only 2 ways that it can happen, either he dies or he doesn't, but Bungie WILL shock us all. There is no doubt about that.

And I Love it....

No one dies in my oppinion... I think it will just be a big happy ending with a nice big thanksgiving dinner... gravemind, cortana, arbiter, chief, and johnson sitting at a big mohogony table (candellight by the way, earth is apparently destroyed), maybe even the girl from that 70's show cutting the turkey!

I, like you, am a light-sound-vibration complex that resonates with others. I have hopes and dreams and ambitions, just like you! I AM, and so are you! Yes, we are one and the same, you and I.

He had better die.

What the hell are you talking about?

In the end, Halo is going to turn out to be one of those family games about Christmas. Everyone will give everyone else presents, and build snowmen (for your northern hemisphere folk) etc. Earth will not be destroyed, but Jesus will come back to life, remind everyone the true meaning of Christmas, and from there, somehow, everything will be peaceful. Talk to Bungie.

I'm just joking for you stupid people. Don't tell me there aren't people like that because I've MET them

I hope Bungie doesn't listen to the fan or else the Arbiter can start pre-ordering a spot in the Mauseloum.

haha, yes thanks for trying anyway. But I seriously do see some sort of link to the bible in the story of Halo. There are a few hidden things in halo that you could find in the bible. I really think that the big secret of halo, will be something bible related

I hink it mostly relates to the Ark story, I think that in the game Noah was a Forerunner.

I am...whimsical today.

Hmmm, interesting. Maybe he dies, and is placed in the Mauseloum. And this cements a new peace between the Covonant and the Humans?

...Or maybe Master Chief aka the baddest mofo in the universe goes on to stop the arc, blow up all the halos, kill all the covenant and get every babe on the face of the earth.
