Just a crazy theory that i thought some of you may like to hear,

>at the end of there third book, you know how Dr Halsey takes the spartan with her (i cant remember if its linda or kelly) i believe that the artifact that they found on reach some how teleported them back in time (to the time of the forerunners) and dr Halsey and the spartan were the original people to activate halo,

There is one piecew of evidence to support this theory:
in the first halo game, Guilty Spark says to John
"you asked last time if i would do it and after giving it some thought my answer has not changed" (along thoses lines) i think he may be refering to dr halsey and the spartan (as John and the other spartan would look similar with there suits on.

Well its crazy and i was just wondering if any one thinks i may be right or a complete nutter

Points for originality but I dont think its whats gonna happen.

I forgot what happened to the artifact, but yesterday in another thread someone said it was destroyed.

BTW: It was Kelly Dr.Halsey took with her.

About skipping school at Halo 3 launch day

I'm going to school because I plan on having a life...
Yeah, only nerds skip school. Oh wait...

That sounds reasonable to me, I never thought of that. It's a very good theory.

My problem with it is that if they did go back in timeand the ring isnt destroyed, why is reach still gone and the covenant are still assembling their attack force for earth?

you're naut cookin'

Sounds good, but it doesnt work if you're saying it in reference to the books.

In the book 'The Flood' Master Chief finds the body of a marine in the Library, and Guilty Spark claims that he also was a reclaimer, but that he didnt make it.

I remember Master Chief thinking to himself that the man must've been one hell of a fighter, and that he took the soldiers dog tags.

he doenst refer to him as a reclaimer does he?

oh well,
but that marine was one good fighter,
he got like nearly all the way to the end

Normal marine? Wasn't it one of those ODST guys? Meh, doesn't matter, the dude was dead regardless.

But interesting theory about the time-travel... Probably too complex to incorporate into the game, but I'm sure it could fit into the new books somehow!

well if they did go back in time, then they wouldn't have know that they did,
and also they didn't know about halo.
so they would have fought there way through and gone to activate it just like the chief but the chief was stopped by cortana, Kelly and Halsey don't have cortana to look through the system for them and knowing quilty he wouldn't have said much about it either

One of the old-school Bungie lore guys posted a pretty convincing theory back in 2004 that you may find interesting (It has been almost 2 years so give me the benefit of the doubt if my details are off):

Basically the top ranks of the UNSC brass had known about the Halo rings and the existence of the Flood, long before the conception of the SPARTAN program. The guy quoted some very elaborate communications that he had found within the book, but for the life of me I cannot remember them.

However they pointed to a certain General/Admiral acknowledging that there was some kind of experimentation going on with the flood virus/disease on one of the Halo rings. Hopefully someone from 2004 will remember the story and can help me out here!

So with this in mind I would assume that Halsey would have probably known about the experiments on the Halo ring, and therefore would recognize forerunner artifacts when she saw them. Thus she may have taken the artifact simply for its forerunner apperance (whithout necessarily knowing what it actually did), and figured it was important.

My own theory is that (in the event that Bungie finally does shed some light on the Halsey-Kelly story with their game), that the artifact will have something to do with completing the overall Arc activation sequence. I am also guessing that it may have some kind of tracking signal in it, which is why Truth jumped his fleet to earth by accident -- because he was following the forerunner signal in the artifact.

But just some food for thought.

Guilty is very guilty ;) hehe. I was thinking along the lines of your theory a little while ago and I think it is plausible. However, the artifact that they found (the crystal) was destroyed by that one ODST right after Kelly and Dr. Halsey left the Ascendant Justice because Dr. Halsey asked him to. But in one of the conversations with the universe I believe there was an archeological site that unearthed part of a Forunner structure on some other world, so it could be that another similar artifact was found at that location, and Dr. Halsey figured out how to use it and found installation 04, but 100,000's of years before MC due to the time travel thing. Just a thought.

Sigh...I just wish Bungie would let us know how much of the book-storyline they are incorporating into the last chapter of the Halo games -- it would really help to narrow down the number of possible theories.

The artifact only made time slow around them though, not go in reverse.

All Humans are reclaimers due to them claiming the ring (again, as the forerunners did before, because they are humans) or reclaiming. 343 refers to Miranda (as well as John, and the fallen ODST) human as a reclaimer (please, use caution;this reclaimer is delicate). Although time travel is certainly interesting.

yer,
it would be funny if guilty spark was really the creator of the flood,
it would explain his evilness

Personally i think that somehow the Covenant and Human races have some kind of entwined destiny....but my pet theroy is that humans are descendants of the forerunners... read the forum "WE ARE THE FORERUNNERS" for proof....

Halo 3... the beginning of the end or the pinacile of 1st person shooting games?

mabye the eovenant and humans were origanally alied before they all got killed by halo?

Someone may have already said, but Hasley left the artifact with that guy, who blew it up...or something along those lines. Sorry for vagueness, but it's been awhile.

on the we are the forerunner things....

I found the following quote from Earnest Holmes

"We are the forerunners of a new race of people; we are the arbiters of the fate of unborn generations; we are the custodians of the chalice of truth."

Are any red flags coming up from anyone?

UPDATE: Earnest Holmes was apparently a very authoratative source on "Religious Science"

>.> This could really pull the Bible into Halo, consideing the flood, ark, etc.
