Subject: What is this forum for?

Is this completely off-topic like The Flood or is there a recurring theme other than "gathering place for the Bungie community"?

Thanks.

Check out the Forum Descriptions for descriptions of each forum.

The Community is designated for "all topics directly related to the Bungie community itself, the Bungie.net community, and the Bungie.net website. Additionally, this forum is for discussion about World Domination, Bungie LLC itself, Bungie Aerospace, and Bungie lore. "

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

From the HFCS article:

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Now listen up! Back in my day, we didn't have fancy private groups! We had Two forums and a rock for the entire community! And we had to share the rock! You should consider yourself very lucky Bungie.net users!

In wine there's truth but in silence there's surrender.

I see it as a place for the Bungie employees to gather with the community members of this site and discuss ride alongs, site-related bugs and issues, upcoming releases among other things. I guess you could say it's off-topic in a sense, but not nearly as off-topic as the Flood.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

False, The Flood is the only off topic public forum, there are many groups on Bungie.net that advocate off topic discussion.

I know you probably misspoke, I just felt like I should correct you anyway.

Does anyone even read these?

I really do think this forum is redundant.

Thanks for all the replies.

I guess I have a better grasp of what is accepted here and what is not.

I heard someone say once (paraphrasing here) "Multiflag on Blood Gulch with your friends is what makes Halo, Halo." I GUARANTEE that more people agree with that sentiment than "Getting a 50 in MLG is what makes Halo, Halo." - Oboewan42

Once you realize that no one really knows what they're talking about you'll get along much better. As long as you seem confident when you post people will buy most anything you say.

Were it so easy.

OT: I don't know what this board is for either. Perhaps its to pick up chicks. Maybe its here to let us discuss that same 4 topics, again and again and again ad infinitum. It could be a place where we can show off in an attempt to seem "community oriented" and then maybe be chosen to become a moderator.

Its all of the above and none of the above. Its here because the site needs it as a niche. A catch all, like The Flood for non Bungie related topics. Only the point of this board is to catch all the site specific oriented topics, and as a community center to discuss community issues.

Oh, this is also the place where we express our dislike of Qbix. Have fun.
