I think they should bring the Halo:CE pistol back. They could even have it just as powerful as they did if they wanted to. I just think it should function more like a real life pistol. If any of you have ever shot a pistol in real life, you'll know that they are extremely inacurate. Because of the shorter barrel they are prone to deviate from the intended path by a considerable amount compared to any rifle. If they do bring the pistol back and it's still quite powerful, they should make it pretty inaccurate like its real life counterpart. Yet, if they opt for the toned-down pistol like the Magnum, they should still make it powerful enough to be useful on its own; unlike the Magnum of H2.
As for Covenant weapons, I think they should seem more foreign than they do now. They also shouldn't seem like copies of the human weapons. It gets redundant when you have so many weapons that are alike. There really isn't any difference between the human weapons and Covenant weapons, other than the latter does more damage to the shields than the former. I'm against a Covenant shotgun replication. However, the same effect could be accomplished in a different way. Bungie could still have a shortrange weapon for the Covenant; but instead of a spread of bolts, they could have the weapon that shoots plasma strands (not the best idea, but I thought I'd offer something) that exit the barrel perpendicular in orientation in relation to the direction that the gun is aimed. Not firing perpendicular, but oriented perpendicularly. Bungie just needs to get a little creative with it and remember that the Covenant come from an entirely different background and, thus, have had different needs for their weapons making them very different from our own. They should not just be BRs in disguise or SMGs with a simple skin change. They need to be unique and operate in a considerably different way than that of the human weapons (yet not ubsurdly). Sure, some weapons can and should be comperable to the human weapons, but not all of them.
i would rather see a modified needler that basicly was a shotty it fired all its needles at once or of some sort
Not a bad idea.
(These are the most words I've said in a long time. I need to take a nap or something to recover.)
