Like a forum that everyone can see like a public forum. But only members that have been part of the community for at least 4 years OR have mythic+ stauts can post in it!

I would much rather be interested in seeing discussion with long time members.

What do you think?

What content would you put in that forum?

  • 01.06.2012 7:18 AM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

How bout no?

They can use a private group like Mythic group for that. Also titles can change for a variety of reasons (even randomly with no moderation history).

But on the public forums everyone is able to respond to a topic unless they are banned.

There are groups that are user restricted (ex. there is a mythic blue bar group) but I think that is the closest you are gonna get.

LOLOLOLOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That is pretty funny. The oldest you are going to get in terms of "old school" is as far back as like mid to late Halo 2 (except for Cryptic, 2001).

But, why make a public forum only people with certain join date can post? and to then let everyone see it?

It is a waste of forum space.

I would rather have a forum that is about speculation for Bungie's next game called "Per Astra ad Astera" or have a forum about Myth and Marathon multiplayer.

Hmm. No I don't think it'd work.

Also OP, you join date is:

You have been here for what less than 7 months?

Why do you want an "exclusive" forum when you are no where near attaining Mythic status or being one of these "supposed" grizzled ancients.

I don't understand.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The Black Chapter!

On thread: well, it hath been mooted before to make the flood only available to older (People who have been here for a fwe months) users, or something. I can't see the harm in that. A public forum exclusively for super-long term members is probably going a bit far.

While we're at it, I'd like a forum for discussing Bagatelle. It is a grossly underrated game that doesn't get enough attention on these forums.

Myth and Marathon multiplayer.
Okay, Ken.

Anyway, an idea that I've seen kicked around plenty is restructuring access to The Flood. The general idea is that only users have to be within a defined standing in order to be able to perform certain actions, such as replying and creating threads.

For example:

X users can reply to threads
XY users can create threads and the above
XYZ users can create polls and all of the above

..and so on.

Whether or not such a system would be based on join date/forum title/etc remains to be seen. The idea is that it adds a sort of value to one's account. For example, if you have to put some sort of effort into being able to create a thread, the less chance there is you'll throw away said account with some unfavorable behavior.

Who the hell do you think I am?

I'm pretty sure that's what the mythic group is for.

As long as it's accompanied by something like this so we don't get any LOL TEST THREADS! it seems like an ok idea.

I don't think Bungie.net should have "parole".

If you get banned, you serve your time, you learn from your mistakes, and you move on.

I like right now how trust rating is just used for titles.

In real life, you're not allowed to vote until 18, not allowed to drink until 21, and not allowed to rent a car until 25. (In America, at least)

Parole is implying you did something wrong; Probation or trial period seem more fitting.

Pretty sure it's not. You should Foman's post on this page before you think private groups are the same as this.

I would like to see something like this implemented. If you haven't read through the thread Burrito linked, I suggest you do. It brings up very good arguments and how they should be dealt with.

This supposed "secret forum" would provide incentive to be a positive contributor on a single account. If users want to post there, they would have to meet X standard to gain access. In that other thread it talks about having more interaction with the Bungie Team. I think it would be pretty neat to have restricted access to a forum (like what bungie did with the Optimatch forum) except it wouldn't be as simple as linking a gamertag.

I don't understand.

It's irrelevant to what the OP's join date is, since he mentioned he mentioned "only seeing the discussion", he said nothing about taking part in it. And who knows what the actual parameters for posting in this said forum would be. I think it's something definitly looking into.

  • 01.06.2012 7:49 AM PDT

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"Don't eat doughnuts on thin ice."

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

It sounded cool when I first read it, but now that i'm typing, i realize how annoying it would be to have something intelligent to say but not be able to post it.

It might work. It might not.

Only one way to find out!

What would be the point of said forum.

LOL, we have Blue bars in every thread.

Now, there are only around 200-250 Mythics. That is a very small number to give a forum to and waste of the webteam's time.

I think the majority of us here are referring to forum that allows only Heroic, Legendary, and Mythic members to post (possibly even normal Members with a high trust rating that are simply missing the account age).
