Use that time to look for a job so you can get a better internet connection.

Use that time to look for a job so you can get a better internet connection.

Or take that time to troubleshoot your current connection. Upgrade your router to something DD-WRT or Tomato compatible.

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

I have a better idea.

Instead of telling that guy to fix his internet. Which it's probably just a phase at the moment...and will clear itself up when his ISP figures it out...not him.

You people need to understand that you are trying to play a game OVER THE INTERNET!
Which means...when you grab a bunch of random people from across the internet and throw them into a room together. The chances of someone leaving the game before it's finished is very high be it due to quitting or lagging out, etc. It's the -blam!-ing Internet for -blam!-s sake.

A quit ban is not going to solve the internet!

The moment you figure that out, you will realize how -blam!- stupid the quit ban is, was and ever will be.

Quit ban is stupid...sorry, Quit ban never did anything for me other than rack points up against me because some dick wants to purposely get himself betrayed.

Quit ban never did anything for me other than tell me not to quit from that 2v6 match.

Quit ban never did anything for me other than tell me to waste my time hunting down 1 person who refuses to quit.

Quit ban never did anything for me...that couldn't have been solved better by a join in progress system.

-blam!- YOU, and -blam!- YOUR QUIT BANS

Did the quit ban stop that guy from quitting? NO IT DIDN'T!

Would a join in progress feature have made that guy who quit not matter in the slightest? Yes it would have.

So STFU and learn that a quit ban is not going to solve the internet!

If we were to make a bet, to say that.
Hey I'm going to play a game over the internet that involves about this many random people. I would bet you money that before that match is over, at least 1 person is going to get disconnected from that game EVERY TIME. Just because of the context of what you are trying to play the game on. THE INTERNET!

You're a -blam!- moron if you think anything other than a join in progress feature is going to fix that problem.

Then you stack on the way Matchmaking works in general and you really think a quit ban is going to solve "THAT" problem.
You people are idiots.

No system is perfect. Quit ban system is the best we've got.

I'm thankful we have something in place.

AT the very least, you need to stfu and quit telling people to fix their internet.

And let Bungie do that actual talking.

No need for some stupid -blam!-boy to come respond on Bungies behalf. They created the -blam!-, they can explain and justify it whenever one of their paying customers comes under fire from it.

DERP

"Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not."

If he's lagging out constantly and know's it's because his signal is low it's his internet, he should fix it.

That don't matter, Bungie still created it. They can post that -blam!- nonsense everywhere for all I care. THEY STILL CREATED IT!. They can do the explaining.

And just because someone pays money for internet access from a company that sells it, doesn't suddenly make them responsible for fixing all the problems within that ISP connections.

Unless of course they work as a technician within that company....

Think about wtf you people say. Because you sound like a bunch of -blam!- retards.

People think it's whoever's fault but their own.

If you disconnect regularly..hey, you know what? It's your fault.

FIX IT. That or enjoy your ban. Either way, it's better for everyone.

I've lagged out like once in the last three months of playing pretty solidly.

chances are I don't care who you are or what you say.

the game can't tell the difference between the two. it knows you were gone before the game ended and that is what matters

lolwut? If i'm having slow internet or connection issues i'm going to call my provider and ask them what's going on and 100% of the time they fix it.. Who do you want us to call when something is wrong with our connection? Bungie because we're playing a game they made? lol

  • 01.06.2012 11:17 AM PDT

It doesn't matter that the game can't tell the difference between the two. It doesn't matter because they both end up with you leaving the game and leaving your team a man short.

And both are your fault. The game sees no difference because it doesn't need to.

The quit ban is one of the things Reach is on the right track with.

Focus your attention on things that need fixing.

Connection cut counts as quitting. Sorry, it sucks.

It doesn't suck. It keeps people with -blam!- connections out of matchmaking.

Really?

Not once did the quit ban affect me in the 3 months I used dial-up to play online and it hasn't affected me in the 8+ months I've been using 3g/4g wireless.

It's not the bandwidth. It's the quality. When will ppl learn. Maybe you had a tight dial-up connection. Good for you.

Halo needs hardly any bandwidth at all.

Like I said, if you disconnect, whether it's your ISP's fault for being -blam!- or your you can't set up your home network properly or your fat cousin, Shaniqua keeps picking up the phone while you're on AOL, that is not Bungie's or 343i's fault and it's sure as hell not my fault. It's on you.

here is the main thing that everyone doesnt know about.....most of the time my signal is green.....but i say 2 out of 5 matches it goes red and stays that way all match...now there would be only one person with green while everyone else is red....can you explain that?

  • 01.06.2012 2:38 PM PDT

You're probably the host.

Since you have a -blam!- connection. It only makes sense.

Are you Mexican by any chance?

Fix your connection or don't. Those are your options.

You guys may think the quit ban is doing something, but its not doing crap. I used to play halo3. If there is anything the quit ban was made it worse now people just quit at the voting menus.

I know its 10 minutes but it still pisses me off.
