Because H2V was a colossal failure and they don't want to repeat that.it's not the game which is a failure but the late date it was released. it could have done so much better if it was released in 2005
In case you can't fully grasp what Syx said, I'll lay it out for you in simpler terms: If a PC game designed to have a large multiplayer base never breaks 200 players online at any given time after its release, it's a failure.ok, if you folks say so. i wasn't trying to start a debate or anything, just quoting why i though H2V wasnt popular.
since alot of you dont like the porting job done for Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, could you tell me why?
i thought both games where fine
Halo PC was fine in my opinion, the only faults i had with it were the poor netcode and lack of co-op but that's just me.
Halo 2 Vista on the other hand...it was poorly optimised, lacked essential features, the modding tools were worse than HCE and even it's Xbox counterpart, powerful rigs struggled with it sometimes, it took Shock120 to incorporate co-op into the game, GFWL Errors, the massive aim assist advantage that using a controller gave you made using an m+k pointless on LIVE, dedicated servers weren't great compared to Halo PC, server browser was poor, 5 CD key install limit to enhance gameplay...It just wasn't a great PC game.
Although I did have fun for nostalgia reasons and the occasional multiplayer game or Live co-op, it just was poorly ported by Hired Gun. It had potential and as I said in another post, Halo PC shows that a Halo game could work on PC...but they dropped the ball with Halo 2 sadly.
