Much has been made of attempts in other games to model soft surfaces like hair, fur, clothing, fabrics, etc. Halo 1 and Halo 2 didn't really have much use for such surfaces, for the most part.
However, there are several in this trailer-- the windblown brush, the flexible hose rattling in the stiff breeze.
Is this a new feature of Bungie's own rendering engine, or an effect produced by a piece of middleware, and is it intended for use only within noninteractive cutscenes, or within gameplay as well?
