Subject: Halo: Primordium Theory (Contains spoilers!!!)

My theory is a long shot, I admit it but it popped in my head. The ship Chakas/Guilty Spark took over heads towards where ever Halo 4-6 takes place. Providing an interesting plot point and giving the Chief so human equipment.

As I said before, it's highly unlikely but it's a tiny bit possible.

How is it unlikely? This was the first thing that popped into my head when I'd heard of that (still haven't read it). If Librarian is still alive, and since Medicant sent us to the Forerunners, and if the ship Chaks took was the Infinity (if) then it makes perfect sense given what we know.

Anyone else think that the ship Chakaspark took could be the ship at :30? Perhaps his search ran into trouble?

The librarian is Alive through Gea. She is dead and the didact is probably dead also. But they had Gea implanted in humans (maybe forerunner for the didact) that caused them to live on, dormant, through the ages.

Chakas is looking for a human(S) (Probably halsey) and is going to force the Gea out thus bringing the librarian back to live. Same with all of his old friends.

I really hate the entire concept of this.

Ok, so my theory isn't too unlikely.

ANd yes grey, the concept is quite dumb but would you do it if your friends from long ago be kinda brought back to life?

No no, not that.

I hate the idea that there have been forerunners in our genetic coding that had an influence on our great achievements. It makes it seem that humans could never again rise to the top just by being human. I now understand why forchento (spelling) was so spiteful once he put everything into perspective.

  • 01.08.2012 12:14 PM PDT

Yea true. Could ruin everything us humans achieved if we found out if what we did was influenced without our knowledge. I can see where you're coming from.

  • 01.10.2012 6:17 PM PDT

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Or other theories like bevet mutation or Cryptum. Just sayin'.

  • 01.10.2012 6:22 PM PDT

I had a theory that the Chief had the Didact's geas, but considering the Didact's hatred of humans it occurred to me as pretty improbable.

Halsey possessing the Librarian's geas doesn't seem so likely, either. I can't really summon up justification for that statement right now, because I can't really sift through the information in my mind right now, but I have a vague feeling that it's not like that.

The Didact doesn't hate humans and it was pretty much stated that halsey and every other important human in history had a gea.

The end of the book didn't say that the gaes helped shape the humans to this day, infact I believe Chakas/Spark said that the imprints were all dormant. I really like this idea though, because it helps explain why cheif was able to activate all the controls on halo and why only humans can activate the ark.

Did you honestly read the end of the book? Read then End, pay attention to what chakas said, then come back here.

my apologies sir, you are correct. In a way that does kinda suck, but i still like how it helps connect a lot that we have experienced in the games.

It sucks just as much as the unnecessary cortana subplot in reach.

  • 01.10.2012 8:51 PM PDT

ya i really didn't like that either... I much prefer how it was told in the book "The Fall of Reach" where she choose John and trained with him.

Not that.

Halo was found because cortana's took her orders to preform a random jump as a chance to use the coordinates from the Sigma Crystal (which didn't need to be decoded).

Reach changes that to The crystal being some type of holy grail with halsey knowing something important was there that would help the war. It completely removed the context and subtext behind halo's founding.

Now we are told nearly everything we have done wasn't because of us, but because dormant forerunner genes in us. Humans aren't living again, the forerunners now have two empires in the Galaxy. Since the Gea can be manipulated at anytime nothing is stopping them from fully activating and turning humans into forerunners.

I fully understand why Forthencho Was acting so rash.

  • 01.10.2012 9:09 PM PDT

Oh yea, I get what you're saying. But can the gaes really be flipped on like that? They appeared to me to be more like instructions in response to certain events the carrier experiences.

Also, isn't the premise of the next halo trilogy the idea that all the events of the first trilogy were for some greater purpose? Thats all they are trying to connect with the books it seems.

I guess i sorta have Chakas' optimism that in the end the Forerunners are just looking out for humanity's best interest as the heirs to the Mantle.

FYI i take notes as i read so i have a better understanding.

There was a control tower that was controlling "The girls" Gea, you noticed how she kept saying how it was constantly changing and leading her to the TO? That says enough.

  • 01.10.2012 9:29 PM PDT

good tip. i suppose im just interpreting the text differently. To me it sounded like Vinnevra's guidance was more due to the beacon possibly being controlled by the primordial or the master builder, at least i think the characters weren't sure whether they had been built that way or if they were corrupted.

I just said that.

  • 01.10.2012 9:49 PM PDT

I understand your point. What I'm saying is that it wasn't the librarians touch but a signal from a beacon that all the humans were feeling, which is why there are so many of them in the canyon leading the the Palace of Pain.

To me it seemed that a geas, whether an instruction (like chakas leading bornsteller to the cryptum) or an "old spirit" is something separate from what Vinnevra was experiencing.

you aren't getting it. That tower is what implants and controls the Gea, which the girl was using to move around.

Since i havent actaully finished primordium yet, i myself do not know too much. But what you just said makes complete sense. I dont like this forerunner interference one bit either. So that was the reason why forthencho sounded so wired up.

By the way, i had completely forgotten about the massive cortana/reach retcon until you brought it back up. So thanks for ruining my day. . .

The question is also whether one can control and suppress the old gea.

The only threatening one is that of old beings who due to their amazing knowledge could have crushed the normal human host, with memories and take over their body.

Although as someone stated above some geas have to be activated in some way, for example a certain event or something. Maybe some gea's were activated from the beginning.

Example. Vinnerva and the original inhabitants on the halo were programmed to bring anomalies to research facilities which were controlled by beacons.

Whereas Chakas had a gea of an old being activated after he had arrived on the halo and maybe on awakening the Didact.

Still this is just speculation on my part.

Another could be said that maybe most of humanities accomplishments were not due to the effect of geas, but actually a slight push by them, really miniscule and that humans had to solve it by their own.

This push may be miniscule but it mainly pointed at certain things. Like a small handicap, but not that much of a helper that it would leave the humans weaker if they were not using them.

This could be used to accelerate progress as no one know when the final move will take place. Also remember there could be many humans with the gea and many who were not successfull and few that were became well known.

Many shots at the point for them and very few hitting the mark. The biggest threat although is when the forerunner gea that are placed in humans that are like old ghost, take over. For now they may just act like little guider but later on it will come to a point where they shall have to be controlled and removed.

Still all we know is what grey has mainly stated above.
