Subject: Post -'08 Moderators?

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Possibly as the forums become more active with Bungie's new game.

I'd laugh if they skip the 08s and 09s and go straight for a 2010.

Tis possible, TGP was a member for less then a year then was promoted to ninja.

Aren't there a few that are post '08?

Anyway. I don't know about you, the majority of people from '08 and '09 that I know of have shocking ban histories (myself included), so maybe less people are even considered? idk.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I doubt a specific join year is avoided when moderators are selected. We'll never know the exact requirements or what they look for in a member. Only the ones who made those requirements and those who fulfilled them know what they are.

I really doubt they would purposely avoid members who joined in 2008. That's a little silly. I wouldnt be surprised to see a couple '08s when the next batch is selected. That will probably be slightly prior to the announcement/release of their next game. That seems to be the trend.

BJ for Mod---2012

  • 01.07.2012 7:56 AM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Ban histories =/= being a mod.

Most mods on Bungie.net have been banned a few times, some MANY times. I would think that maybe having experienced the ban system yourself one could better make a judgement call on what is appropriate (a warning or a ban) depending on the situation and the severity of the crime.

But, we won't see new mods for a while but new mods will come, I am sure of it. as time passes, mods leave the site. Like GameJunkieJim, he used to be a mod.

By that logic you'd make a great mod.

Ohhh, i see what you did there.

As far as new mods go; I wouldn;t expect anything until after the next game is formally announced. I suspect one or two new bodies might be required to cover higher peak traffic around any new release.

There will probably be a new moderator or two in the coming months, and I would not be surprised to see an '08 mod anytime soon.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Yeah, because join year is exactly what we use in HFCS to establish our natural hierarchy.

I play for fun and armory completion. :)

I'd imagine that we will find out when Bungie's next game is announced, there will probably be more traffic to this website.

Based on that logic Ken, they should just get Cena in as a Master Forum Ninja.

Join year probably has no significance in the selection of moderators. Maturity, activity, community involvement, and knowledge of the rules are probably the most significant factors that go into the selection process.

Exactly. I think that Bungie looks at the individual's performance and rapport within the community as the determining factor, as well as others which we may not be privy to. I suspect that experience, good behaviour and some form of community contribution in the past are the metrics that they use. Join date seems rather one-dimensional, doesn't it?

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I for one think that the only way a user's join date could be relevant to whether or not the ninjas pick them is if said user has been here too long. As such I believe that no user who is a Mythic Member should ever be added to the ninja roster. Post 08 members would be fine, provided they were not mythic. I think that is the only way to progress forward. Almost all the ninjas now are Mythic behind that Forum Ninja moniker. Its clearly not working out. A new method is needed.

ANYONE BUT MYTHIC 2012!

(Am I being sarcastic? You be the judge, dear Septagon.)

OT: We just need some post 08ers to join TFM. That will guarantee that some newer blood is added.

Elitism FTW!

An interesting thought, either way: If a member is too old, he has probably already been ruled out for being picked as a moderator.

Still, people change. It would be unfair to never take a second look for some users, especially with the common join age being somewhere in the teens.
