Basic logic. It's not hard.
Evidently it's quite hard for you.
Yes, a new game will sell big at release. The fact that this outnumbered all the users who kept playing Reach into 2011 after purchasing it and who purchased it in 2011, and who purchased Anniversary and played it online... well, there you go.

Don't forget, a game that is released in November should do better than a game released a year ago, considering more people will buy it at once.
Modern Warfare 2. Released November 2009. Beats Reach in 2011.
Sit down, kid.
Modern Warfare 2, released in November 2009, and still the highest rated CoD out of any of them since MW1. Both of you decided to ignore my argument that the Call of Duty fanbase is ENORMOUS. It's the best selling franchise in video games (sadly), and therefore has the highest possible population spread. Latest sales records show such a massive outsale over Halo:Reach of MW2, BO, and MW3, that even if we take the sales of one game and split it over all three of them, Reach would still be behind at least two of them (in this case, MW2/MW3). CoD has grown in popularity so much that it is able to outsell Reach with ease, Halo is just dying. Watch Halo 4 follow this trend, until a game overtakes Call of Duty again.
It's nice you bring in CEA, because it has barely helped at all. Considering every UU was registered, it would mean CEA must be on that list, too. Why? In order to access CEA online, one must first access the CEA main menu, which counts as a "1 UU" for CEA. That meaning, if CEA was really a big boost to Reach, we would've seen CEA on that list as well.
