Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Appeal to popularity is a common fallacy which you guys are utilizing.

And with all due respect, I'd like you to point out where in this thread I stated that MW2's greater popularity has any implications for Reach's actual quality as a game. I believe you're just assuming my intent.

To clarify: I'm not saying Reach is bad because it's less popular than CoD. I think it's bad, but that's entirely because of my preferences for certain gameplay mechanics. What I do think is that it is disappointing that the latest Halo game can't chart better than a (relatively speaking) outdated CoD game.

If I believed in the appeal to popularity, I'd have to delete all my music.

Viper, you're missing the point.

What Sentox and I are pointing out is that it's rather pitiful for the flagship franchise of the Xbox console to have less UUs in a year than a game released a whole year before as well as a game which had only 2 months after release before the UUs were tallied.

Unique Users for Halo Reach will probably stay the same until the release of Halo 4.

Modern Warfare 3 and 2 sold many more copies, and more people play Team Deathmatch in one of those two games alone than people playing Reach in totality.

Obviously, the more popular series will win

Yes, and we can judge him for that however much we damn well want.

Problem?
No, you can't. You don't choose why he likes Reach. Don't pretend you're more important than you really are, 'kay bro?
LOL. Someone doesn't even understand what "judge" means.

Go back to school, bro.

Yup. School is the best place for judging. You can't be yourself at school, unless you want to be hated for life. Really I don't care. I be myself all the time. I'm just surprised I'm not beat up on a regular basis. Wait. What does this have to do with Reach? I fail. I'll stop with this forum.

This isn't really a disagreement, nor is it someone I fail to grasp.

I'm simply expressing that it's a shame CoD is so much more popular that even with some of the player base migrating from MW2 to Black Ops, Reach couldn't chart higher.

I have to concede that davadude makes a fair point: even many of the players who did move to BO would still be highly likely to play MW2 at least once in 2011.

Either way, though, Halo has fallen a long way.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Call of Duty is now more popular. OK. I also saw 120,000 people on Reach yesterday. If you aren't content with 120,000 people at once then you weren't content with Halo 3.

Halo may not be number one anymore. Will it take back the mantle? Maybe, maybe not. But sitting pretty in 4th spot is not a bad deal and something many developers would kill for.

I realize Halo has fallen quite a bit. That doesn't mean the series is doomed and that we can no longer enjoy it.

I think you're giving Halo too much credit as a series, and Call of Duty too little.

True, but this Christmas peak seems to be declining again.

I'd be more content with the population if I lived in the US, put it that way.

I realize Halo has fallen quite a bit. That doesn't mean the series is doomed and that we can no longer enjoy it.
No doubt, but it doesn't mean I can't be a little disappointed either.

Vipers brings up a great point here. Let us not forget that some devs have worked super hard on their work and may be only on spot 10/11, for example? They would be screaming with joy! The point is, we've become so accustomed to being the big player, it's time to accept that times change, as sad as that is.

-blam!- CoD! It's just mainstream garbage every single goddamn time. Why this pile of -blam!- is beating Halo is beyond me? I have to blame Bungie for this mess, Halo Reach, their swan song to a great franchise, psst...my -blam!- arse!

And why the -blam!- is Gears 3 7th? One of the best games to ever grace the Xbox alongside Halo. You know what, -blam!- Call of Duty, -blam!- Treyarch/Infinity Ward, -blam!- Activision.

Yeah, I'm totally pissed to see Halo trail behind this piece of garbage.

Want a cool clan? Join FRAG!

Want a war sim? The best war sim in Halo, Forerunner Conflict.

I love how Skyrim, a single player game, is at number 5.

......and chubby here, he's my man servant. BOOONNNG!!!!

It's only cause so many people hate on Reach, cause its not 3, and it has a DMR. I'm impressed it's 4. Not surprised that COD tops the list with there 1 game a year strategy, and the mass amount of randoms that play it. Like said above if your not happy with...115,487 people online right now on my console.....then go play something else.

Lmao I love when people say this.

Fanbases don't like huge changes to a game series, this is why H2 and H3 were so successful, even when MW2 came out. Reach took a crap on the Halo gameplay. Enough said.

I know right? 1 Was diff than 2/3, ODST was an attempt at a sandbox style halo, Wars was a damn RTS, and reach is a mix of 1/2/3 and some new elements. Not saying any of them were horrible(Wars is not my game of choice) but they are what they are, I loved 3, and I love Reach, and when 4 comes out and its not 3 or Reach what will the people say then......

Except this logic falls short too when you try to explain why MW2, a game released a year before Reach also has more UUs than Reach.

Have fun, now.
Well El Bazza, when more people like to play MW than Halo, MW will be higher on the most played charts. This is a matter of preference in the market, Justin Beiber currently outperforms Curtis Mayfield(superfly=best soundtrack ever made) in the music market. Personely I might shoot myself in the head if forced to listen to Justin, however I understand for other people he is a quality product (13 year old girls).

If you must have your game be #1 for you to enjoy it or believe its a quality game, it appears CoD (13 year old boys) is where you should be. If you prefer Halo and wish to play that, please do so.

But as a favor to the rest of us, can we enjoy this game without the constant Reach bashing because its not #1?
